Strange really, when we all went there it was just having the crack, living for the moment etc, who would have thought that all these years later that it would be so celebrated or even famous yes.gif

At the time i thought with my(and many others) lifestyle that 25 years old would be a milestone  got that twice and a few more behind me now  met many people and made many friends because of this strange music of ours :hatsoff2: there must be hundreds more photos hiding all over the country(world) i know there are loads in Gloucestershire!

look forward to the next batch from anyone

Steve

hatsoff2.gifHI ALL very enjoyable lot's of faces, i wish i could show a few that i had / took i have only 3 bad ones left, as someone broke in my house 1982 and for some strange reason stole 2 photo albums, laugh.gifI am aways sad that out of 100% laugh.gifof photos taken, only 2% are in the downstairs bar area, as such many collectors who were not DJs arnt photographed, i would like to see some if anybody has anyph34r.gifDAVE

The ginger lad was part of the Scots lot, good dancer.

Hi Barry, it was Stevie Smith, the whole thing seems to be dedicated to him as he sadly passed away a few years back. One ot those people who deserved a mention in the characters thread that was running a while back.

Some great pics in there, most seem from the 80/81 period as recognise a lot of the faces.

And the baggy pants current revisionists should take note that even by then there was very little visibility of "the uniform"

Hi Jocko.

That's very, very sad. I used to sit behind where Stevie used to dance, always a well dressed fellow.

His friends have done a lovely job, I wondered what the epitaph at the end was for, it was very moving.

Wigan was a very style conscious place toward the end, you're right.

My recollection is that the baggies were on their way out towards the end of 78?

And we went back to a more mod/skinhead style, which is the style I prefer

I did wear the baggies from about 74 first the high wast bands then the single belt wast with pleats they were ok for the acrobatic style of dancing I did back then but. Could not wear them now

But good luck to those who do like to wear em

Can't comment on 80/81 cos I'd stopped going by then

I know all my baggies got downgraded to work cloths in early 79

Janice, is at 6.07. She was a great dancer - even whilst heavily pregnant at Morecambe.

She used to dance with a small blonde haired lass at the front of the stage at Wigan, they were class.

I remember Andy Berry now you point him out.

(musta been a good weekend)

Hi mate - I'm so, so sorry I had no idea about Janice.

I see the video has disappeared and I'm afraid I have no idea where to find it - it's that long ago I can't even remember which vid is it was.

Mate, Janice was a big part of the scene I grew up with and am saddened she's no longer here.
