Guest Heartnsoul Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Soul Foundation, Velvet Cocktail Bar, Queen St. Wakefield - 20th May Despite numbers being down slightly on the first two nights, the third Soul Foundation was a cracker! Enjoyed double-decking with the one and only Wayne Dearman. Great tunes and a smashing lad as well, the epitome of what the scene should be about. How many DJs do you know who'd turn up on crutches and do 2 or 3 spots in order to not let you down? Here's a sort of play list, in no particular order and not exhaustive by any means, but again it's just to give you a feel of what the night is about.  Next one June 17th - 10 'til late. Admission free. Lynn Cornell - Moaning - Decca Jeanie Allen - I really love you - Mala Ruth Brown - Sweet baby of mine - Atlantic Earl Grant - Fever - Decca Lew Conetta - You got me crazy - Decca Etta and Harvey - Spoonful - Chess Jimmy Ricks - Daddy Rollin' stone - Atco Ray Agee - You hit me where it hurt - Shirley Ray Agee - I'm not looking back - Celeste Alvin Robinson - Searchin' - Tiger Roscoe Gordon - You got my bait - Jomada Earl Gaines - It's worth anything - HBR Johnny Copeland - One more time - Golden Eagle Garnett Mimms - Prove it to me - United Astists Dorothy Williams - Watchdog - Volt Ruth Brown - Sho' nuff - London Barbara Lynn - I'm a good woman - Tribe Anne Peebles - 99lbs - London Jackson Brothers - Ive gotta hear it from you - Providence Jimmy Bailey - Hush - Columbia Emile Griffith - Going going gone  - Tangerine Johnny Moffet - I found joy - Canterbury Bobby Bloom - We're all going home - MGM Richard Caiton - Take a hold brothers and sisters - Uptight Cash McCall - You ain't too cool - Thomas Jimmy Jules - Ten Karat Fool - Abet Geater Davis - Wrapped up in you - House of Orange Bobby Bland - I wouldn't treat a dog - Eddie Parker - Body chains - Prodigal    Â
