Dave Abbott Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 i was just thinking of this record last night because someone was playing a record and saying where they cue it in an di though of this cos the spoken intor has a big 'gap' in the groove where the intor stops. And till you posted this i never knew it came out without the intro. Bloody marvellous!! :-)

Guest Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Got a few copies of the monologue version on Capitol that i picked up in the States a few years back, but must say that makes the 45 for me, love that two-step build up as Mr Rawls purrs prior to breaking into full on throttle. Can remember dancing at the Manchester New Century nighter with the actual footage of this from the 60's playing on that huge screen they had..great stuff.

I for one totally agree, the intro is an integral part of the record. Without it you only have half the story.
