spinneaussplit Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Hello, Was thinking about this 45 from Michigan while playing it out. Great Northern Dancer in mho but i think that this one isn´t a typical winner, more a question of taste. Heard this for the first times on two mixes by the function crew from Malmoe, think by Sebastian and Helena. Tried to find a copy but wasn´t easy to find one at all, especially in nice condition. After the first one popped up on ebay the Price exploded, probably because it came up for sale really seldom before. https://www.popsike.c...y+ernie&x=0&y=0 After that it seams as if many other owner offered their copys but the price varied extremly. At the Moment it seams as if there were a longer period without a copy offered weather on ebay than here. What do you think, whats the going rate for this? Do you like it? Thanks in advance. Sebastian Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Helena and I have indeed been playing it a bit over the past couple of years (as have many others, I believe). It's a fantastic uptempo tune in my opinion. Sounds great when played out loud. As you noted, not an easy 45 to locate clean copies of, and prices are all over the place. Hard to put a "set value" or "going rate" on a record like this which so comparatively few people are aware of.
Corbett80 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) Heard this via Soul Sam and then found that both Sebastian and Helena had been playing it long before then, absolutely love it. I've given it a few spins at the 100 Club, and in Spain and its always gone down really well alongside other similar records. After that initial glut of copies from Ann Arbour it seems they have largely dried up. I believe Arthur has given it a few spins too? One of the sellers had another super hard 45 on Hotline Soul Journal thats also unlisted. Edited May 23, 2011 by corbett80
spinneaussplit Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Saw it on another mix, think from one member of the Ann Arbour Soul Club, but you´re right just a few people seam to know this. Although it is on refosoul. What was the other 45 in Hot Line Music Journal?

Not sure what that seller had but I have a 45 on said label - Roger Love which is pretty tricky to locate and wasn't listed as known. Edited May 26, 2011 by harrogatesoul
spinneaussplit Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 What´s it sounding like. would be nice to get a soundclip.
Harrogatesoul Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Roger Love - Every Line Has A Place - Hotline Very southern sounding - It's no dance floor winner anyway! But sits very right with myself. Flip is 'Just To Make You Happy' I'm sure there are copies out there but I've only ever seen 1 other go through ebay (which is on Popsike).
Corbett80 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Thats the one! Couldn't remember if it was a Roger or a Ray
