Is anything actually known about the group the Nicky Newarkers? Are they from new york? are they connected to any other groups? Any members, etc.? Were they a hispanic group since they did a spanish version of one of their tracks? I see they were produced by Jesus Alvarez who was with turbo/stang, etc. Thanks in advance for any information.

More googling makes it seem like the group was from Newark, as it looks like Alvarez was from there and "newarkers" is in their name...

They were indeed from New Jersey - hence the 'Newarkers' as you say.

boba , found this I new he was a Cuban Preacher-

Jesus Alvarez was a cuban producer of southern soul and became a preacher at the end of the 70s.

Jesus Alvarez, better known for his work with "SHIRLEY AND CO" and the hit "SHAME SHAME SHAME", He also produced the single leave me or love me / woman released by the fantastic mellow soul band nicky newarkers.

Besides, he also released a few singles for "Vibration", a subdivision of "Platinum Records" and an album "Just Give me Jesus".
