Cover-up Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 This might sound like a stupid question but... When DJs cover-up records, do they just stick a white piece of paper over the label? Is the "new" name just written on the label? Just wondering if anyone goes to the bother of doing fancy Photoshop labels, and if not... why not? That way you wouldn't even know if a cover-up WAS a cover-up... Is this the reason why the Four Vandals record caused such uproar? (Although to me, not only did it sound all wrong, it LOOKED all wrong...)
Chalky Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Most dj's just cut a label out and stick it over the top (with sellotape) so as not to damage the origianl label. No point making a special label in photoshop, the only reason it's done is to hide the identity for a while. Four Vandals was done deliberately to dupe unsuspecting punters out of money (defraud them basically).

soulAdequateNP Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I remember one well known DJ used to cut pretty pictures out of magazines for use as c/u labels
