As much as I dislike the northern soul 'tat' that's on sale on-line and at some events, I do like to personalise wall space with key items that mean something to me. I've taken to having a few soul album covers above the decks at home. I think this is my favourite so far.

Neater and more attractive than an historical collection that's been on the wall for far too long.

What would your favourite album covers be, for the art not for the music (although I guess most of us would want the music to be credible)?

You can't beat Blue Note albums for art. There are coffee table books dedicated to it , Give me a Reid Miles photograph or an Andy Warhol sketch anyday

one of the only album covers on my wall:

the rest of my wall is covered with signed publicity photos though

I have a bunch of LP covers & beat 45s on the wall of my classroom, the kids are always asking about them. The blurry writing of "Shotgun" on the Jr Walker LP cover gets lots of stares.

A few other contenders for frames. I'm leaning towards the two Marvin Gaye pics. The Dusty album has some brilliant pics inside, there's a gatefold booklet between the sleeves that oozes 60s UK.

One of my favourites that I've framed is The Impressions - Big Sixteen Vol. 2.

Agreed - fantastic B&W photos in the Dusty album - add to that an amazing selection of tracks and covers - don't make 'em like that anymore!
