Alan, great playlist. Right up my street and I could really enjoy hearing this stuff out. As a nation that's supposed to have the most soul fans per head of population I find it suprising there isn't more nights like this in pub or hotel lounges.

Saying that I haven't tried to put this kind of night on so can't really complain that not many others have.

Nice one

Looking forward to the following Thursday for the next installment of "Temple" Vibe sound plus whatever else we might play.

I know Alan hasn't started a lookback thread, but just to quickly say what a great night we had last week at the first 'Diamond Feather @ Future Shock', ballads and steppers night at the Soup kitchen in Manchester city centre... great atmosphere, great beer and great tunes. George and James do this every week with a different theme, Funk, ballads and steppers, boogie and disco, and on the last Thursday of the month a veritable melting pot of all things soulful at the 'temple soul nights reunion' where you can hear more of Alans tunes together with some of mine and Phil Wainwrights, Adam Leaver's and Dave Hulston's; next week being a very good place to start the incredible Eurocultured soul weekend which ends on the bank Holiday monday and for those with Stamina, Insomnia or a large bag of pills, will take in steve cato's 'soul or nothing' on friday, the Radcliffe All nighter on saturday and the eurocultuerd alldayers on sunday and monday.......

Anyway, i brought a little box of steppers to the party.......

in no particular order

Arthur Foy-Love Dreams (MCS)

9th Creation- Mellow Music (Track)

The Meters- Be My lady (Warner Bros)

Vaneese and carolyn- goodbye song (polydor)

The Superstars- come to me (TAPS)

Jeff Perry - Ive got to see You right away(Arista)

Jocelyn Brown - If I cant have your love (Posse)

Marshall Donovon and Broomfield-Thats Love (Augusta)

Billy Baker -Describing Love (Garden City)

Byron Blue -I am with You (Lyons den)

Peace Love and Happiness-aint nothing but a love Thang (abab)

Shades of brown -How could you love him (on Top)

The Experience Unlimited - You got to tell me (how to love you)(gaynote)

Your welcome anytime Mark, not dissimilar to your Majestic night given your playlist. We could have an exchange!

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. I sincerely hope the night takes off. It is a great idea to mix deep, sweet with the two step thing and George and his mate play some mean sweet soul. As a punter I couldn't ask for anything more musically and to get to play a few is the icing on the cake.

Shame we don't all live in the same town. Although probably wouldn't get much work done on a Friday.

Regards Alan
