Guest Peppe Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Hi all, just a curiosity...there are two different titles of this, one is simply "You're driving me crazy" and the other that I've seen is "I say you're driving me crazy" (with "you're driving me crazy" underlined on the label) both are on Little Star 117...different versions? Or maybe one is a reissue? Or simply two quite different titles but same track? Anyone knows more?
boba Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I'm not sure I've seen the version with underlining you mention. I've found this in Chicago a few times, maybe it got some play here. I love how it just starts with her screaming.
Guest Peppe Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 (edited) Hi Boba, here's a link with the image of the label version with underlined title https://www.45cat.com/record/117us2 Edited May 9, 2011 by Peppe
boba Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 it looks like a real press to me. maybe it just sold well and had two label variations
Anoraks Corner Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 just a curiosity...there are two different titles of this, one is simply "You're driving me crazy" and the other that I've seen is "I say you're driving me crazy" (with "you're driving me crazy" underlined on the label) both are on Little Star 117...different versions? Or maybe one is a reissue? Or simply two quite different titles but same track? I see this around in Japan quite often...both variations...and sadly I have no idea as to why there are different titles! Both do feature the exact same track in the grooves...a what a great solid slab of R'n'B complete with fog-horn sax break it is! This track goes hand in hand with stable mate recordings from Jimmy Norman - 'I Don't Love You No More' and 'You Crack Me Up' (also on Polo Records). Both these tracks also feature the trademark fog-horn and the instrumental breaks are similar. Indeed, DorothyB's lyric name checks JimmyN's IDLYNM and is kinda like an answer-song to his track. Seriously love all three tracks...won't break the bank to own all three either!
