Platters 81 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 an interesting oddity is the flip of Jayboy 56.....Olympics.....my copy plays "the Duck" instead of "Secret Agents"......always wondered how many of these there are.......
Kris Holmes Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) only thing on Jay Boy I have is that faster version of Harlem Shuffle, i had others, but slowly replaced them with US presses. Edited May 12, 2011 by Kris Holmes
Chalky Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Thought this topic would have been busier? This picture from an agency and his speciality is voice overs.....
AlanB Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 an interesting oddity is the flip of Jayboy 56.....Olympics.....my copy plays "the Duck" instead of "Secret Agents"......always wondered how many of these there are....... Interesting indeed, I like the Olympics version a lot. It didn't get any other UK release did it? I guess it would be quite hard to track down, as many people who list Jayboy 56 for sale might not bother listening to the flip. As I recollect, the sound on "Secret Agents" is really poor. Alan
Wiggyflat Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Here's a few from me.....i've some more stashed somewhere...

Alan I would guess the mistake came about thru the Jayboy rerelease of the Fontana album "Something old Something new"....when they had the tracks.......interestingly Philly Dog and the Duck were paired on a French Festival 45.......which i assume was contemporary with the original Mirwood releases of these ...66...
purist Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Thanks for the offer - will definitely need your help I reckon! Will PM you if we still have any omissions in a couple of months Regards, Col ( wequote] Been box diving today and found the Jay Boy box. I can confrm I have from Boy 1 - Boy 115 inclusive ( with Boy 91 being the only missing number, but this is always quoted as not used in every discography I've ever seen) I also have the pic sleeved German copy of the first release. I've seen Boy 116 listed on some discography's, but have never actually seen any evidence that it ever got pressed ? I'd like to see a scan, or better still buy one if such a thing exists? One time I saw an album for sale on the net and never bothered with it. It wasn't George McCrae or K.C, but some other artist ( can't remember now who it was) Pretty sure it was an artist whose single was one of the ' good ones '. Might have been a test press, but fairly certain it had a full colour sleeve ? Any clues ?
Benji Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 ...I also have the pic sleeved German copy of the first release. I have three german Jay Boy releases: The Shadrocks - There is - Jay Boy 30 001 Doris Willingham - You can't do that - Jay Boy 30 002 E.K. Bunch - Banana - Jay Boy (record tucked away so I dont know cat #) There might be more german Jay Boys but these 3 are all I know of. All three have picture covers.
Col Wolfe Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 so, do you fancy a scanning session???? non-UK images are welcome too! Been box diving today and found the Jay Boy box.
