Guest Baz Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Hi Carl, i bought one from Lilpedler last year they are genuine, if you ask the seller a question for peace of mind they should have a matt black lable with 'music city' stamped in the run out with a 25 and a B in a circle forgot the other numbers

Guest in town Mikey Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 There is someone on here who bought one off him. He is certain it is kosher. We were talking about this only a week or 2 ago. Go a meeting now or I'd look for the link. it shouldnt take long
Guest Baz Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Hi Baz...How many did he say he had when you spoke to him Not to sure the number but a reliable source tell's me he got them from the lable owner
Guest in town Mikey Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 oops missed the reply. computer is so slow loading topics at the minute
Rugby Soul Club Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 (edited) Not to sure the number but a reliable source tell's me he got them from the lable owner I do think the ones he's got are original.......I hope he's sharing the profit with his mates from the band.... Fair play if he can get his reserves but I've noticed the last two "buy now" have gone down in price. If you know a couple of people who want one, it would be a good idea to bulk buy....he will do a good discount. I'll have one for £200 if anyone's interested in going in for a large purchase.... Second thoughts...I'll have two at £200 each.... Edited October 12, 2005 by Rugby Soul Club

MarkWhiteley Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Yes definately pukka. My mate bought one last years and it's identical to mine which I've had for ages. I think he had about 30 copies, but quite a few folks have bought over here so maybe down to 15 or 20, you'll have to ask him. I think he has/had quantity of everything on the label, but funnily enough no copies of the Prophets??? Billy

Chalky Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 The one on JM auction fertched just oer £600....not worth anything near that IMHO....in fact I wouldn't pay the £200 some are willing to pay with the copies knocking about but if folk are willing to pay daft prices............ Pile o' shite anyway
Guest Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Would imagine the reason most arent normally prepared to pay certain prices is because they can't affor to in the first place, if you can afford something without it effecting your personal life style then why not pay the going rate for it at the time of sale?

I won't pay over the odds even though I can afford it. Loads of others out there at the right price.
Guest Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 OK, you have already said you don't rate this record anyway, so pointless relating this to it, but what if a record you had been after for a very long time came up for sale, you had no financial commitments and a few thousand spare in the bank, would you still not pay a penny over the price you deemed the record to be worth, and go look for something else at the right price?

A penny over maybe but I wouldn't pay say twice as much as the record is worth. Certainly not for something that is around or has been around in quantity. Edited October 13, 2005 by chalky

Ernie Andrews Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 As Per Kev Roberts note on new pressing releases he states that the Oxford nights is coming out soon.He also states that marion carter is head of Ripete records a genuine company! Guess what- Ive had an email from Julian Fowler(lil-Peddler) and guess what he said- He works with Marion Carter every day- Read into this what you will.
Gasher Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 so let me get this straight I always read between the lines AND SPEAK MY MIND ITS A FREE COUNTRY so bascally IMO Lil-Peddler ACTUALLY WORKS WITH THE GUY WHO OWNS RIPETE RECORDS..HOW CONVIENIENT (THIS IS ALL THEORY ONLY IN MY LITTLE BIT OF GREY MATTEROF COURSE) SO LIL-PEDDLER has a number of copies that are SUPPOSEDLY ORIGINAL OR has been passing them off AS SO Althought they really dont look like the REAL DEAL with the label differences. He now has a few 100/200/300 who knows left he cant shift AS THE WORD IS OUT ON THE STREET.so he sells them to Marion Carter (who he sees every day at work...convienient agin)to sell as a legit reissue now.Strange that RIPETE would sell something on a DEL-FI label. after he was selling them as originals? IS THIS WHAT WE ARE HEARING?? OR IS IT JUST THE LITTLE GREEN MEN IN MY HEAD PUTTING 2 + 2 TOGEHTER AND GETING 4 FOR A CHANGE..PENNY DROPPED YET TO ALL YOU BUYERS.... THE GASHER... I SMELL SOMETHING TRE TRE FISHY AND IT AINT MY SARDINE SANDWICHES

Im told he was selling the shiny ones.. the gasher.. Manship told me this 2 years ago they had been booted and to be very careful. when they first started to appear in Numbers I bought my dull label copy from Lew Sanley as did Dave Flynn the same week..which was authentic. but then they turn up in numbers 6 months later on the NEW SHINY LABEL?? as i said this is merley my little brian ticking over..and thinking aloud..NOTHING IS BEING SET IN STONE SO DONT ALL JUMP ONTHE PREVERBIAL BAND WAGON AND START GIVING ME SHIT FOR HAVING A CONCERN..
