GradingsNM - spotless record. One tiny mark/scuff/flame/scratch and it's EX. Many new records will not make this grade.



EX - Basically everything that will look and play great.

VG+ - Will have marks that may very moderately affect play. Might have fairly large amount cosmetic marks not affecting play.

VG - Lots of marks, should still play fairly well but not perfect.

Steam Heat - Austin funk - Fable / EX/VG+ / £250 (Legendary funk album. Nice copy, sleeve is close to EX with only minor general wear and a name written on front w/ ink pen)

Gwen McCrae - Melody of life - EX/EX / £110 (Beautiful copy still in shrink. With "All this love that I'm givin'", "The melody of life", "I can only think of you" and more. Great album!!)

Glass featuring John Williams - Introducing - HCRC / EX/EX / £50 (Rare 1983 Modern soul/electro album, standout for me is the beautiful slowie "You are the one". Nice copy still in shrink but one slightly creased corner)

Eli's Second Coming - s/t - Silver Blue / EX/EX / £30 (Beautiful copy of this indemand disco album. "Love chant", "Heavenly" + the philly floater "Love won't let me wait". Cover still in shrink, small cut out and some very light staining.)

Ace Spectrum - Inner spectrum - Atlantic / S/S / £25 (Still sealed copy with tiny cut. Incl "Don't send nobody else" + the powerful two step track "Pickup".)

O'Jays - Super bad - Trip / EX/EX / £25 (Budget release but I think this is the only way to get their excellent versions of "Just to be with you" and "Gotta get my broom out". Cut corner.)

Nina Simone - It is finished - Rca / EX/EX / £20 ("Funkier than a mosquito's tweeter". Beautiful copy still in shrink.)

Les McCann - Plays the hits - Limelight / EX/VG+ / £15 (Incl the great jazzy northern soul cut "Sad little girl" which is album only. Front cover is clean, back has small neat writing and a rust stain from a album holder.)

Flavor - In a good taste - Ju-Par / S/S / £10 ("One way ticket" two step/rare groove monster on this Motown sub album. Still sealed copy with tiny cut)

21st Century - Ahead of our time - Rca / EX/EX / £10 (Classic Chicago soul album, "Remember the rain", "Tricks are made for kids" etc)

G.C. Cameron - s/t - Motown / EX/EX / £10 (Pretty solid album as usual from this superb artist. Stand out for me is "Truly blue", a great dancer that I'll occasionally use when DJing. Always a winner! Small cut.)

Kalapana - Same - Abbatoir / VG+/EX / £8 (Blue eyed soul with the breezy "The hurt", "All I want" and "What do I do".)

Edwin Starr - s/t - 20th Century /VG+/ EX / £8 (1977 album recorded in England featuring the awesome two stepper "Eavesdropping". Personal fave! Cut corner, label has neat writing on label. Vinyl has some light hairline marks on A-side not affecting play

Goody Goody - s/t - Atlantic / EX/VG+/ £8 (With "It looks like love" which is absolutely Vince Montana Jr. magic. Price sticker on sleeve and some small stains on back otherwise beautiful condition.)

Sun Ra Arkestra - Meets Salah Ragab in Egypt - Praxis / EX/EX / £125 (Greek original "Egypt strut", "Oriental mood")

Sun Ra Arkestra - Live at Praxis '84 Vol. 1 - Praxis / VG+/EX / £20 (Live album recorded in Athens, with Salah Ragab etc. Enjoyable listening throughout, welcome to the world of Sun Ra! Vinyl has some very light marks from being taken in and out of the sleeve, plays well.)

Staffan Abeleen Quintets - Sweet Alva - Odeon / EX/EX / £90 (Great copy of this rare and indemand Swedish jazz album. Includes the superb modal cut "Mr. Minor".)

L'JIV - An Elizabethian songbook - CBS / VG/VG+ / £90 (London Jazz Four, here with the beautiful modal jazz cut "Orientis". Vinyl got some lighter marks, still plays ok. Cover just some very light general wear + name written on back.)

London Jazz Four - Take a new look at the Beatles - Polydor / VG+/VG+ / £70 (Classic 1967 UK jazz on a indemand album, including the swinging "Things we said today". Cover got some light signs of aging, creases, stains etc. Vinyl has some light superficial marks, plays ok.)

Eero Koivistoinen Quartet - Labyrinth - Love / EX/EX / £85 (Superb and rare 1977 release from the Finnish jazz man. Great artwork!)

Dadisi Komolafe - Hassan's walk - Nimbus / EX/EX / £75 (Classic spiritual jazz album with "Speak no evil".)

Blue Mitchell - The thing to do - Blue Note / EX/EX / £70 (Good Blue Note set with Junior Cook, Chick Corea, Gene Taylor and Aloysius Foster. New York address first press, Van Gelder + Ear stamps. Stereo copy.)

Stanley Cowell - Regeneration - Strata-East / EX/EX / £60 (Superb Strata-East title, incl a vocal version of "Travellin' man" + more. Essential spiritual jazz.)

Nils Sandstr¶m - The painter - Odeon / EX/VG+ / £50 (Rare 1972 Swedish jazz album. Includes superb versions of "Manteca" and "Cantaloupe island". Cover in nice condition apart from a few faint stains thus VG+ grade.)

Jef Gilson Nonet feat. Jean Louis Chautemps - New call from France - MPS / VG+/EX / £50 (Superb and classic euro jazz set. MPS is second label after Saba.)

Sahib Shihab and the Danish Radio Jazz Group - s/t - Oktav / NM/NM / £45 (Out-of-print japanese high quality re-issue of one of the best euro jazz albums ever. "Dance of the fakowees", "The crosseyed cat" etc.)

Wendell Harrison - Reawakening - Rebirth / EX/VG+ / £40 (Rare original of this fusion jazz from the Tribe man. "Tons and tons of B.S." etc. Some light wear on front cover but still a very nice copy.)

Sonny Stitt - Tornado - Jazz Masters / EX/EX / £40 (Solid funk jazz album with Eddie Russ. Portrait cover, not sure which came first of this and drawn city skyline one.)

Sathima Bea Benjamin - Memories and dreams - Ekapa / EX/EX / £30 (Superb vocal jazz with the epic "Africa". Beautiful copy!)

Baby-Face Willette - Behind the 8 ball - Argo / VG+/VG+ / £30 (With the fantastic, deep "Song of the universe". Less expensive but so much better than his Blue Note albums. Original deep groove US press. Front cover is clean but back has writing and some wear. Vinyl got some light superficial marks, plays well.)

Stina Nordenstam - Memories of a color - Telegram/Caprice / EX/EX / £30 (Almost contemporary vocal jazz by this great Swedish jazz singer. Mostly sold on CD this vinyl release was well limited and now well rare.)

Jamey Aebersold - Witch hunt - JA / EX/EX / £30 (Rare private jazz, one of his harder and certainly better titles. Incl the superb title track)

Erdogan Capli - Exciting rhythms of piano pasha - Time / EX/EX / £30 (Superb eastern tinged jazz by this great turkish pianist, "Pasha's team" etc. Rare and great.)

Novella Nelson - s/t - Arcana / EX/EX / £25 (Vocal jazz that reminds me of Nina Simone. Pretty solid listening throughout with highlight in "Coldwater flat".)

Pat Bowie with Charles McPherson - Feelin' good! - Prestige / EX/VG+ / £20 (Superb vocal jazz with the all time great title track. Cover has cut corner and slight ageing.)

Willis Jackson - Jackson's action! - Prestige / EX/EX / £18 (Blue label original. With the Cannonball Adderley cover "Jive samba" which is a live version of his jazz dance classic "Nuther'n like thuter'n")

Joe Lee Wilson - Without a song - Inner City / S/S / £18 (Great album incl a vocal version of "Return of the prodigal son" + more. Still sealed copy with cut corner.)

Rufus Harley - Scotch & soul - Atlantic / EX/VG+ / £15 (Good bagpipe(!) jazz, enjoyable listening throughout with the standouts to me being "Feeling good" and "Taurus the 20th". Blue/green stereo first press. Creased corner, DJ stamp on label otherwise in beautiful condition.)

Jens Winther Quintet - s/t - Stunt / EX/EX / £12 (Highly recommended jazz dancer in "That's the way it is", for fans of "Gibraltar" etc. Danish original.)

Jon Hendricks - Live - Fontana / VG/EX / £10 (Superb vocal jazz. "Home", "No more", "Reza" etc. With Harold McNair etc. UK original, recorded in London. Vinyl has lots of light superficial scratches but plays ok.)

Michel Legrand - Le jazz grand - Gryphon / EX/VG+ / £10 (Great jazz in "La pasionaria" Cut corner.)

Cedar Walton - Firm roots - Muse / EX/EX / £8 (Includes the classic "Shoulders")
