jocko Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Okay some sales, postage at cost. Would prefer bank transfer, or paypal as gift as obviously selling for low end prices. I need to make room in record room for my MP3 downloads so shifting a few 45's. PM's only please. I am out of country from Thursday so it may be early next week before I can send anything out, if urgent let me know and we can discuss but cannot guarantee anything due to work,. Condition as noted below each record, I have listed exact state of vinyl/label and how it plays rather than an arbitrary grade as everyone does this differently currently. Happy to provide sound clips and/or scans (assuming can work new printer for scans!) and money back if you don't think I described it right. More to follow today/tomorrow. Ray Lewis - Give My Love A Try/Getting Over You (Fairmount DJ Copy) £125 Rarely seen, great version and a just a deep soul beauty. Johnny Moore - I'm Only Half A Man/Can't Live Without A Love (Jadan) £75, used to be a big hitter till some turned up, cracking double sider as you would expect from this man The Monticellos -Don't Hold Back/I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face (Red Cap) £90 Another great double sider, top side was a big play for Gary R and just perfect for the tempo terrorists out there! Clydie King - Missing My Baby/My Love Grows Deeper (Imperial WD) £90 Absolute bargain, but suspect the appetite for quality at this tempo is minimum these days, sadly. Carol Anderson - Sad Girl/I'll Get Of At The Next Stop (Fee) £75 One of the original soul bowl lot brought in, and yes it was £2.50. Was being operative word sadly! Amazing deep soul flip outshines top side by far. Lorraine Chandler - What Can Do I Do/Tell Me You're Mine (RCA WD) £80 Class in a glass on both sides. Jackie Beavers - Bring Me All Of Your Heartaches (Grandland) £80, seems to be finding a little favour again, at last. Actually 2 good sides. Pat Lewis - Look At What I Almost Missed (Solid Hit WD) £75 Lovely not often seen WD, ZZ & Co - Getting Ready For The Getdown (Columbus) £125, The first issue with the right matrix. Dramatics - All Because Of You (Sport) £65 Another with that ooomph that seems to be the required sound nowadays, great dancer Romeos - Mon Petit Chow (Loma WD) £75 Ditto, one of the greatest instrumentals of all time, agro soul x 1000 George Jackson - I Don't Have The Time To Love You/Don't Use Me (Mercury) £150, generally tipped for the main side, wonderful beat ballad, but the flip has some mileage on those uptempo and frenzied dance floors. Soulful Twins - I Can't Let You Go (Sable) £80 You know what it's the same as, but a great record in its own right, the copy that probably was the first to get big plays, one of the many Allanton monsters out there, no matter what Stevie Walls trys to claim. Ty Karim - I Ain't Lying/Only A Fool (Roach) £80 Great record, with the overused backing but Ty's brilliant breathless vocals, and a fantastic b-side, that should/could be getting some interest in current world. And I think this is the actual copy Ady used for recent CD release, that must be worth an extra fiver! Tommy Tate - I'm Taking On Pain/Are You From Heaven (Okeh WD) £115 Just one of the greatest double siders from one of the greatest singers that ever graced a recording studio. Tough one to let go. Bud Harper - Wherever Your Were (Peacock) £115 Can't believe lack of interest in this, thought this would have been a cert to cross over to baggie pant land. A Stafford classic from the Gaz Kellet stable of numerous tips that should make it priceless for that alone. Buddy Lamp - Save Your Love (Wheelsville Single Sided demo) £150 Original and greatest agro soul record surely, more oomph (allegedly) than a certain legendary (allegedly) Leicestershire tablet factory, and one that should be the anthem for all tempo terrorists out there, you know who you are! Buddy Ace - It's All For You (Teardrop) £100 Recent JM auction, always been a very hard record, one of those early modern soul rarities that even Simon M must still like, although he won't admit it! Larry Laster - That's Just What You Did (Duo Virgo) £150 Just one of the best ever, had this for sale previously but pulled it because I couldn't bear to let go, however slowly converting my collecting habit to LP's or virtual only so seems it deserves a more loving home, this scene should hold its head in shame there seems to be no place for complete quality like this in present day. Gwen Owens - I Lost A Good Thing (Velgo Green) £80 Classic, never really got its dues to me due to always being in shadow of her other classic on the label, which is no surprise, even 3 nights of passion with Angeline Jolie would be overshadow by the unbridled beauty of her other monster! Romance Watson - Come A Little Closer (Coral) £30 Truly shocking record, this man really can't sing it pains me to say, having loved his other number unconditionally for many a year till I listened to it with a clear head and no all-nighter ear-goggles on, oops. However that is only my opinion, which normally I would say is always right, however if someone with a passion for rocking raucous dancers with piss poor vocals wants to buy this off me, I will admit I am wrong for once!

Surely a bargain price for a quality piece of Rhythm'n'Soul, and worth every penny for the flip alone... btw...no conditions on any of the description...shape up youth...

I thought you might be commenting on the RW when I first saw this Sorry about lack of condition, I have sent wrong file in and other one is on my home PC at moment. I will update with conditions when I get home tonight and will answer all PM's in order of getting them, apologies, sloppy on my part! And good taste Mr Mace, it has a great b side, not one I think of as being in vougue scene wise, but like his other 45, just a great soul record

Check out his vocals with the local GodSquad on the Youtube link below...he kicks in at 1.52 mins. No, this ain't a 'scene' record either (unless you're into the Sally Army )......but I think you should seriously reconsider the 'can't sing' comment, if only for the lightning bolt being aimed at you at this very moment in time
Catseyes Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 HI IF THE BUD HARPER IS STILL THERE I'LL TAKE IT PLEASE. TOM
