Pete S Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I thought this was a great version...presumably everyone else thinks it's rubbish...heard a lot worse
Pete S Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 I was just a bit surprised to find there was an 'original' version of the song as I only heard the brilliant Patti Austin version before.
Guest Dan Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 little bit Big City Soul-type sound for my taste Pete but not bad at all, very interesting other version
Guest Baz Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I thought this was a great version...presumably everyone else thinks it's rubbish...heard a lot worse Like it but then again i like George Hobson, so ive got bad taste anyway Whos it by Pete

Billy Freemantle Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Great stuff. After listening to that I had to play Roy Hamilton - You shook me up which I believe also came out on RCA at around the same time I would have thought. Do the records have anything in common musician or producer or arranger wise? To my ear they seem to have more than a bit in common.

The only thing they have in common is the label...apart from that, the Roy Hamilton track is a giant pile of elephant dung
Billy Freemantle Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Yes, it is a rich and fertile concoction, isn't it?
Guest Dodger Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Yeah it is Shane. Can you sell this one for me please, we need to stock up on pampers Shit being the common denominator here!!!
Soulsmith Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 It has a few endearing features about it, but really doesn't do it for me. It if I was out & heard 4 or 5 tracks like this played back to back, I'd the know the evening was on a downer. Col.
