Pete S
I was just a bit surprised to find there was an 'original' version of the song as I only heard the brilliant Patti Austin version before. Link to comment Social source share

Pete S
It's Val Martinez on RCA. It was on my list last week but didn't sell, going by todays reaction, presumably because it wasn't known by most? £50, bargain Link to comment Social source share

Billy Freemantle
Great stuff. After listening to that I had to play Roy Hamilton - You shook me up which I believe also came out on RCA at around the same time I would have thought. Do the records have anything in common musician or producer or arranger wise? To my ear they seem to have more than a bit in common. Link to comment Social source share

The only thing they have in common is the label...apart from that, the Roy Hamilton track is a giant pile of elephant dung Link to comment Social source share

Soulsmith
It has a few endearing features about it, but really doesn't do it for me. It if I was out & heard 4 or 5 tracks like this played back to back, I'd the know the evening was on a downer. Col. Link to comment Social source share
