Guest Downpresser Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I posted a question about this in an old wants thread, but that might not be the right place... I was looking to buy a copy of Detroit Soul - All of My Life on Music Town off a record store owner in Conneciticut (where the band/label was from) that I've been talking to. He claims to have bought out the label years ago and has been selling the dead stock of this 45. Is this an old story? Are these the bootlegs? ARE there bootlegs? (I wasn't able to confirm this one way or the other.) He doesn't seem to know a TON about records (doesn't grade properly) but just because of his store location, story seems to add up at least a bit... Any advice is appreciated!
Russell F Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Yes there are boots, the original has frankford/wayne machine stamp on one side and f/w scratched in on the other hope this helps.
Goldsoul Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 We had the original band at Soultrip in Florida 2 weeks ago. Bart Mazzarella the band leader said it sold well in their hometown Hartford and surrounding areas.
Geeselad Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I have ther other on the label ( not great) and it has a slightly different design, black triangles around the edge, does aoml, exist with the same design? seem to remember seing one, though could be senilty.
Guest Downpresser Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Thanks for all the info!I'm leaning towards thinking this guys ebay auctions just aren't selling for as much as others because he doesn't ship to the UK, not that he is selling boots. Not to mention that he doesn't seem like he quite knows how to grade/properly list records...
