Prophonics 2029 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) I have always thought that the song Soul Searcher was sung by a whisky drinker or a smoker with Eddy Hughes having such a rich deep voice but I now know he was a 13 year old. Pro Edited April 15, 2011 by Prophonics 2029
Dave Abbott Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Don Hysong? ...it can't be surerly, Ian...his version is so bad it hurts
Chalky Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Don Hysong has supped a few too many whiskeys when recording this record...he's terrible. He's also the label owner as well isn't he? He doesn't look 13 on the picture sleeve eithber although he does look young. So I presume you are talking about Eddie Huighes? If so I wouldn't have believed it either.
Dave Pinch Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 i agree don hysong terrible ..eddy hughes brilliant dave
Marc Forrest Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Eddy Hughes 13 years old ? never..the picture on the back of his fan club member ship card shows a young man in his mid-late twenties.
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 I think this was taken when he was touring and singing Soul Searcher, Eddy was signed to D-Town for a short time before he went to Bard.
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) Eddy's real name is Al Hughes he still produces and sings to this day, I have just been to his website and listened to some of his new stuff that I think is great, a little like Oscar Perry. Here is the link also a great bit of back ground history from the man himself. https://www.alhughesmusic.com/ Edited April 15, 2011 by Prophonics 2029
