Chalky Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 ooh I'm gonna get into trouble for this https://cgi.ebay.com/200591509688 Same owner as the Revere label? Pretty similar labels apart from name.
Gasher Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 thats why i never mentioned the evilbay but fuk me I think we all see them why we cant mention it on here is wank so whats the story on it chalky? did you know it existed gasher
Chalky Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 there is no rule, unwritten or other regarding ebay auctions, live or otherwise. It might upset one or two but people are free to discuss what they want. Back on topic, yes Richie I was aware of it, seen mentions of it in the past, on here and elsewhere.
Godzilla Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Auctions like this should never be mentioned. They remind that this horrid assault on your earholes exists.
Dave Pinch Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 the same guy had the inconquerables for your love on flodavieur last week.......... finding some rare pieces dave
Scotters Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Not sure I should say so or not, but I can vouch for this seller as I've had a good few 45's from him in the last 6 months or so, although nothing quite this pricey I must admit! He sold a nice condition Kline a few months back and a recent Harvey Averne Dozen (Never learned to Dance) went silly money a few weeks back, but great tune, so there are a few rare ones come up odd Sunday evenings. I learned recently he used to live in my home town 20 odd years ago here in this very green and pleasant land, before shipping out to the US. Cheers, Steve

Pete S Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I think there's a write up on this on the last Kent Classiest Rarities cd, decided to name the label Paramount then got some legal hassle so changed the name.
Ady Croasdell Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Thanks Pete, somebody's reading out there Yeah, test pressings on Paramount before they worked out there was a slightly bigger Paramount operation a few miles down the road. I'll find out if this is the copy we scanned. Ady
Corbett80 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 the same guy had the inconquerables for your love on flodavieur last week.......... finding some rare pieces dave Hes got another gold vinyl one up as buy-it-now............. Been a couple of Royal Imperials kicking about too....
Philt Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) Is Inconqs another copy? Been away so missed end of last auction. Edited April 5, 2011 by PhilT
Corbett80 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Unless sale went bad and he has re-listed? I had a bid on a normal vinyl one a few months back as well. Popsike showed it had only been on before that in 2005?
John A Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Is Inconqs another copy? Been away so missed end of last auction. Same one, didn't hit its reserve first time round.

Alan Walls Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Does it strike anyone else as odd that such an uncommercial recording could turn up on so many labels? I love it but I couldn't imagine it crossing over into hit territory.
Ady Croasdell Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Well the Paramount was an aberration Alan and the others may have partly been to sell at Jesse's shows, he's primarily a live entertainer so it could have been a re-press when the other run was finished. I think it was considered commercial, it was aimed at Dean Martin originally.
pikeys dog Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I think it was considered commercial, it was aimed at Dean Martin originally. It's definately a Crooner.
Alan Walls Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Cheers Ady. I suppose I can imagine a big voiced Italian-American belting it out in Ceasar's Palace, now you mention it!
Soulman Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Well the Paramount was an aberration Alan and the others may have partly been to sell at Jesse's shows, he's primarily a live entertainer so it could have been a re-press when the other run was finished. I think it was considered commercial, it was aimed at Dean Martin originally. As per the interview I did in Manifesto... yes it was written for said crooner. Personally I love the track, always have. Surprised nobody's picked up on his film scores, particularly the theme from Benji. Now thats the dogs bollox Steve H
