Birder66 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Desperate times call for desperate measures and so I'v decided that it's time to sacrifice my small collection of northern after about 18 years of slowly picking up Stafford era bits that I really love. I ain't no northern DJ - these are just records that I love and felt that I needed to own. Thing is, I don't think I can bear to do this in dribs and drabs - it will kill me and I might end up changing my mind when four or five of my favourite tunes have already gone to the big postbox in the sky. With that in mind, where would be the place to get rid of these as quickly as possible and for a reasonable price? ANN HEYWOOD - Crook His Little Finger - HONDO (Black) SPLENDORS - Please don't go - KARATE LINDA JONES - My heart needs a break - LOMA PRECISIONS - What I Want - DREW DEE EDWARDS - You say you love me - TUBA 4 EXCEPTIONS - Sad goodbye - PARKWAY DJ 4 VOICES - Your love is getting stronger - VOICE (Gold) TOMMY TUCKER - Oh! What a Feeling - LONDON (UK) MONIQUE - If you love me - MAURCI O'JAYS - I'll never forget you - IMPERIAL SILKY HARGAVES - Hurt by love - D-TOWN (only VG) SAM DEES - Lonely for you baby - SSS INTERNATIONAL (Lots ofsurface marks but plays very strong) CARL SPENCER - Cover Girl - RUST (DJ) SHUFFLERS - Always be mine - CRACKERJACK (VG, worn label, plays very strong) DONALD JENKINS - Somebody Help Me - CORTLAND (Lots ofsurface marks but plays very strong) JIMMY ROBINS - I Can't please you - JERHART ARTHUR FREEMAN - You got me uptight - JUMBO EPITOME OF SOUND - You don't love me - SANDBAG (DJ - withhidden raised no. on label) FRANK DELL - He broke your game wide open - VALISE BETTY LLOYD - I'm catching on - BSC CAROL ANDERSON - Taking my mind off love - WHIP MARTHA STAR - No part time love for me - THELMA CHANDLERS - Your love makes me lonely - COL SOUL (slightlyworn label and surface marks but plays very strong) HERBERT HUNTER - I was born to love you - SPAR (worn labeland surface marks but plays very strong) JERRY COOK - I hurt on the other side - CAPITOL METROS - Since I found my baby - RCA VICTOR (DJ) DIPLOMATS - Cards on the table - AROCK (loose B-side label) SHAWN ROBINSON - My Dear Heart - MINIT HERB WARD - Strange Change - ARGO (slightly worn label andlots of surface marks but plays very strong) CHARLES FARREN - You've changed my whole life around - HAWK(worn label and surface marks but plays very strong) FABULOUS PEPS - My love looks good on you - D-TOWN MILTON WRIGHT - The Gallop - CARLA INTERTAINS - Glad I found you - UPTOWN HESITATIONS - She Won't Come Back - (worn label and surfacemarks but plays very strong) ACCENTS - Better think again - ONE-DERFUL (plays with subtlehiss) SIDRA'S THEME - INSTRUMENTAL - SIDRA SPYDER TURNER - I can't make it anymore - MGM DON GARDNER - My baby likes to Boogaloo - TRU-GLO-TOWN (wornlabel and surface marks but plays very strong) HB BARNUM - It hurts too much to cry - RCA VICTOR GINO WASHINGTON - Like my baby - ATAC (slightly worn labeland surface marks but plays very strong) CLIFFORD BINNS - You've got to help me - CARRIE (green) BILLY BUTLER - Found true love - OKEH (DJ) PRECISIONS - Mexican Love Song - D-TOWN JACKIE WEAVER - The Tingle - CHESS EMBERS - Watch Out Girl - MGM (blue & gold) FALCONS - I'm a fool I must love you - BIG WHEEL MONTICELLOS - I can't wait until I see my baby's face -REDCAP There's a handful of lesser bits hanging around as well, but I can't be bothered to list them.
Guest Bearsy Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) first off i would ask for prices (if your not sure) on these then put them in the sales section and if you need to sell urgently be sensible with your prices and encourage sensible offers too, Edited April 1, 2011 by Bearsy
Larsc Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 List them all on ebay with a low start bid. You'll get a decent price and if you list them all at once you won't be able to change your mind.
Birder66 Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Thanks to all those who pm'd. Consensus was that I should list them on here rather than sell to a dealer.
Scotters Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Hi...I've just pm'd you also. Apologies if you've already thought of my suggestion. Good luck getting the right prices for these great records! Steve
paup-ine Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Hi, You will get a bettter price sold individually in my opinion. P
dthedrug Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hi Ann don't let the hart Rule the Brain as you have on paper a nice few records, however realistically unless you auction the of individually you are not going to get your figure, a dealer is only going to pay for ex condition records and then pay half as it there job not a hobby, because of the condition if you get any offer over £750 think about it, I am in a similar position, and when you are skint. letting go of special things is hard, thats what stopped me selling as all i could show any one is yesterdays Bills, good luck if I had cash I would make an offer, don't you have a Friend who sells records or try some of the good guys like Keith Minshall Mick Smith Pat Brady and the like, they may well surprise you, these days good luck DAVE
