Guest Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) We have taken the unusual step of withdrawing the Gwen Owens from auction as the sound is "muffled" in places. It does NOT skip but sound is not of the quality we would like to replicate on a internet auction. The explanation below leaves anyone wanting to hear it first in person and then making an offer we feel is the only honest and transparent way of dealing with ths sale. Vinyl looks excellent, labels are flaw free, but the sound has "muffled" areas which we are NOT happy with. https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/auction/this-week/ EXPLANATION on the site reads NO THIS ITEM HASN'T BEEN WON. It is with regret that we a suspending the sale of this 45. The sound file reveals a "muffled" sound quality in places and we are not comfortable selling it through this auction, as we feel the purchaser needs to hear the full record in person. On our technics decks it does NOT skip, on our Numark turntable connected to the computer system it sounds muffled in places becomes slightly incoherent in certain areas. Any prospective purchaser can contact John for an appointment to hear and see this highly coveted disc in person and make an offer. But we are NOT happy to sell it on a soundfile from a Numark deck through a website. A record of this importance needs to be assessed by the purchaser in person. Sorry to do this, but we feel it is the proper and honest way to continue with the sale of this disc. Any question telephone 01664 464991 ask for John. Listen to the soundfile lifted directly off this disc! Stella Edited March 28, 2011 by john manship
