Dave Abbott Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Though I would pass this on - just had a message, via Youtube that the lead singer and co-writer of "Don't Forget to Remember" passed away last week. RIP Jerry These are the message FYI. Dave, Thank you so much. Yes, I would love for you to post the other single. That would be wonderful. I don't know anything about those guys. I could probably find out. I happened upon a Facebook page last night called "Roanoke Valley Bands of the 60's & 70's". There are tons of pictures on there. There are some of the same bands that Jerry Mitchell sang in on that page. The Royal Kings, The Divots and Leroy Brown. There are tons of others. I am sure someone on that page could give you some information. The only other band member I know is Ed Hamilton. He played with him in The Divots. He still lives in Roanoke. I saw him this weekend at the funeral. There was another guy who played with The Royal Kings but I can't remember his name. I will check around for you if you like. If you have Facebook, check out that page. Tons of pictures and stuff. Again, thanks again for posting that song. It means a great deal to me. Thanks Dianna Yes, it was Jerry Mitchell that passed away. He passed away March 16, 2011 in Roanoke, Virginia at the age of 62. He found out he had cancer about 7 months ago. He was a very talented singer. I have a video from the beach at Outer Banks one year we went on vacation of him singing "Brick House" and "Easy" by The Commodores. I need to find it and put it on You Tube. It was awesome. I just wish now I'd had more things recorded. I truly appreciate you posted the other side of that song. It means a great deal to me. Thanks again, Dianna Edited March 23, 2011 by Dave Abbott
