Guest Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Hi everyone ! Picked up this on a 70's repro and the sound is truely awful & very quiet , anyone know of an issue that is better quality ?
Russoul1 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 the original 45 sound quality is totally different, i remember when i first played the original it blew me away!! classic oldie, which was only issued without a demo on sound city russ

I'm sure I saw original white demo's of it back then ??.........Quite right though , the boot is awful quality
Benji Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Are you sure about that Russ ? I'm sure I saw original white demo's of it back then ??.........Quite right though , the boot is awful quality original label is black/white so maybe it was mistaken for a demo?
Gene-r Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 original label is black/white so maybe it was mistaken for a demo? And it looks like it was hand-drawn!
Pete S Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 And it looks like it was hand-drawn! By a child! But what a record!
Gene-r Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 By a child! But what a record! Correct on both counts, Pete!
Guest Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Yes agree with all above ! What a 45 : How much for an OG ? or a decent repro The boot sounds like it was recorded form a MIcrophone next to a speaker : Up there with some of those Studio 1 repros for sound quality One of those tunes you cannot shift from the old grey matter ! Cheers for the input guys ! Best Matt
tosspot Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I had the boot which i almost had to give away, it was that quiet i thought i had hearing probs ....However i,ve got the white demo which is spot on with no audible loss Hope this helps...Rob
Guest Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Ha ha me too sooooo quiet !! How much that cost you Rob ? anyone know where I can get one ?
Keithw Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 have this copy its a bit muffled but it looks different to boot in JMs its lined also have chaumonts i need your love / when you love someone JMs book states b side of boot is -- love is the thing
Guest Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I've got the same boot as JM : Is this a different one you think ? If its muffled it may be the same problem : Might have to press up a Copy meself !

Pete S Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) have this copy its a bit muffled but it looks different to boot in JMs its lined also have chaumonts i need your love / when you love someone JMs book states b side of boot is -- love is the thing Both of those are boots, Chaumonts 100% definite, Sharpets is the pressing with lines drawn on the label, come on Keith!
