Rbman Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Has anyone got information about Shirley and Jessie... who recorded " Oh Baby (We got a Good Thing Goin')"....on Wand......which version do you prefer this or Barbara Lynn's?
Sebastian Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 (edited) Shirley & Jessie were a New Orleans duo consisting of the equally legendary Jessie Hill and Shirley Goodman. Jessie Hill had some major hits during the early 60s on Minit like "Ooh Poo Pah Doo" and "Whip It On Me". Shirley was one half of the hugely successful duo Shirley & Lee and later had a big hit in the mid-70s with "Shame Shame Shame" on All Platinum as Shirley & Co. I prefer the Barbara Lynn version of "Oh Baby" but I absolutely LOVE "You Can't Fight Love", their other 45 on Wand. Edited October 2, 2005 by Sebastian
