Guest Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 A few questions. Not being a scene regular I Would like to know a bit about the history of the 45, where and when it was played on the Soul scene. I heard it a little while back on one of Pete Smiths podcasts and just thought it was so lovley ............... the whole podcast was outstanding Pete btw (the blue eyed soul one) I realise this is a tough / rare 45, so how much for a decent copy ? Has it had its day on the scene, or is it still one that is still waiting for its five mins of fame ? Also - is this the same band that recorded the huge "my proposal" Any info on the band would be nice. Many thanks everyone as usual ! G
Jim G Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Popsike Data https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=soul+inc&x=0&y=0
Guest Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) I Did have a look at Popsike but as always, the conditions are all over the place and so are the prices. I imagine it would be a 300 pound + 45 in a set sale in decent nick ? A Great tune ! Would like to find out about the band. Any links or anything ? I remember a beach music site with loads of great info on these Carolinas bands. Edited March 16, 2011 by dancecrasher

Phil Shields Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 A great tune and still needs a few plays. Another version also came out on the same label credited to the charms ltd. You can see pics of the group on the heyday site and they also put out an album on the same label.
Guest Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Thanks - thats the beach site I was after. So its has still yet to recieve the exposure on the soul scene it deserves. Got to be the quick then before some enterprising DJs start playing it and the price rockets ! LOL I saw the one on e bay, but the condition sort of put me off a bit, Although the sounclip sounds well. Hmmmmmmm.........................what to do Thanks Guys !
