Guest Coyley Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Hello everyone we have recently moved the company I'm part of 'Utiligroup' from Blackburn to Chorley, in Clayton Green. Opposite our office is the Pines Hotel which I have stayed in a few times. Although before my time I was told there were soul nights there during the 1970s. Anyone here go and have memories of it? Many thanks cheers Mark
Guest chorleybloke Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Ey up Mark, I lived in Chorley until '92 when we emigrated, seem to remember sporadic events at the Pines in the 70s although I never went - it was more of a wedding venue than anything. My mates at the time were Billy Vosper, Andy "Slim" Belshaw (RIP), Ralph Bentham, Ste Finan, Roy Rothwell, Harry Sherlock, Bobby Owitcz, Henry Diamond, Dave "Podge" Frearson etc.. Cheers Pete

(Chorleybloke) Yes, Richard did the soul nights at the Half Way House, late 80s at a guess. I want to someone;s do at the Pines, early 80s, can't remember whose do it was. I think it was a 21st, or like someone said it could have been a wedding.
Guest Coyley Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 The Pines definitely did soul events in the 70s in the annex next door as they have posters up from then and it was in the local paper once when I was up there. It mentioned a couple of alldayers that ran there. Maybe they were small and local. Next time I am there I'll take down the details. The Brookhouse Hotel just down the road run events now I believe. cheers Mark
