Does anyone have these records? Can anyone tell me what each side sounds like or, better yet, point me to sound files?

Instant 3266: The Samfords, Ben's Creek / 40 Room Shack

Instant 3272: Norman John, Valley of Love / Let Her Feel It in Your Kiss

Instant 3274: Nettie Marsh, No Tears Have I / String Of Lies

Instant 3275: The Big Wolfe, The Place (New Orleans) / A Good Foundation

Instant 3278: Traci, The Loser / Little Evil (Michael Robinson, you have this, don't you?)

Instant 3288: The Tunics, Sandman / Moonlight Lover

Instant 3320: Skip Easterling, Walking on Edges / Odeo Odeo Odeo

Thanks,

Matt

Despite the titles, the Big Wolfe is a Cincinnati record. I forgot who BW is (my copies of the Counterpart company files are long buried) but the co-writer is THE Kenny Smith. This was an early Counterpart production before the label was active.

Ugh, why didn't the clips I uploaded come out right? The files sound fine on my computer, but they seem to have uploaded with glitches in them....

got to be the encoding

what format are they in

try a basic no fuss mp3

you should be able to edit them eg upload over

Hey Matt - yes have that Little Evil, actually have 2 copies if you want to trade me something, great popcorn/r'n'b side and right in that early sound you're playing a lot of (rightfully) right now

Could one of you nice chaps post a full clip of "Bad,bad, understanding" - Lee Bates.? Always been curious as only heard part of it.

Old thread re-activation

Been playing through some Instant label stuff...something I haven't done for a long, prompted by suddenly appreciating the qualities of Traci's, 'Little Evil'.

The other disc that piqued my interest was Lee Bates debut disc for the label, 'Bad Bad Understanding'...sounds spot on nowadays with it's Funky drumming and under stated brass and piano work...not to mention Lee's enormously Soulful delivery! A quick Soul-Source search threw up this thread and got me digging a little deeper. Seems that Lee (now sadly no longer with us) also recorded this track for White Cliffs...has anyone got a copy...is it a totally different take?

:hatsoff2:

In case you don't know it yet, this Nettie Marsh is a not very interesting pop/country 45.
