Dave Thorley Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Have edited it a bit to protect indentities, but how refreshing, sort of !!!!!!!!! Dear Dave, Do you remember me ? I had bought you the following record for 65 euros (perry michael allen turn on the music 7" on waylo ). At that time I told you that I never received the record and you refunded my 65 euros back. I had told you that I had not received it because the state of the record was not that good, during our exchange you told me that the state of it was close to VG+ or VG++ while you had put on your website that the state was near mint. I was really not happy with the state of the record and I decided to tell you that the record was never received instead of exchanging with you regarding its condition. I am really sorry and I sincerely regret what I did, it's been more than a year now that I say to myself refund him. I always think about it and I decided to refund you today on your paypal address XXXXXXXXXX Honnestly I would really like that you refund me a part of the payment (65) because the condition of it was not as you said, however it is not mandatory, you decide.
Guest Bearsy Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 shocking a bloody year before the conscience kicked in and now wants a refund whats your take on it Dave
Mark Bicknell Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) deleted Richard is right it's a private matter. Regards - Mark Bicknell. Edited March 4, 2011 by Mark Bicknell
Premium Stuff Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) Looks like the guy really wasn't happy with the description of the record grading-wise in the first place Sure he made a mistake by saying it never arrived - because Dave would have refunded him anyway I'm sure if he wasn't happy with the condition. Well, we all make mistakes and I actually think the fact the guy got in touch after all this time shows he is basically a decent guy, with a conscience. If he wasn't he would not have bothered. Given him credit for that. Best thing would have been to keep this whole thing private IMO. Anyway - my advice would be a "sincere thank you for your honesty" to the guy and a full refund once the record is received back safely - and say no more about it. Dave can now sell the record again and won't be out of pocket Honour satisfied on both sides I reckon Cheers Richard Edited March 4, 2011 by Premium Stuff

No need to name and shame as suggested over 65$,quite amusing really. If it was big money, then that's a different matter. I take it you've not dealt with him since?
Dave Thorley Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 No guys some of you are missing the point. It's fine, I now have a stone mint one in stock which I am happy to let him have if he sends the other one back. No I posted it up more from a humourous stand point, lets be fair how often do you get a email like that, it just made me smile and thought I'd share it. Also the guy involved would never come on here, he from a completely different soul scene elsewhere in the world. As I said just made me smile.
phatspinner Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I think it's great that someone has been honest enough to admit their deception (albeit belatedly) and I think this must be fairly unique. I have recently had to refund several US customers who tell me that their parcels have not been received. I'm pretty certain that they're just held up by the increased security measures but no refunds to me have been forthcoming. When I enquired of one customer he told me that he'd since been lucky enough to pick another copy up locally!
