i have a question hopefully someone can answer. How can you tell the difference between a reissue and genuine copy of the excello single "its your voodoo working" by charles sheffield

any help is most appreciated

Well as far as I'm aware, the reissue is on Ichiban with "Messing With My Mind" by Clarence Carter on the flip.

I don't know of an Excello reissue.

Theres been a few on excello on ebay and on web sales for over a yr now ,they are look-a -like .

Remember seeing a seller on ebay with a big list of look-a -likes including this one ...

However there was a wdj on excello that went through ebay last night at over $500 ....don't ever recall seeing a wdj of this before,but seller insistd it was real and it looked nice too

judging by his questions at foot of page ,i was'nt the only one who'd never seen one before

Does it matter? Horrible record whatever format IMO.

I've seen WDJ copies go for big money before. They don't pop up very often though. That doesn't mean that they're legit of course, but I thought legit WDJ copies existed. Don't take me on my word though, as I've never checked matrix info or something like that.

Just checked popsike Dave ....there's a few on there so obviously theyre out there ..just not something ive come across and not something ive searched for either.

Sadly though someone paid over £50 for a ichiban re-issue of it

There's at least 7 demo's of this ( of which I have one ) that I know of, totally leggit & still fetching good money even these days.

A prime example of a great record that has been forever killed by the "northern soul scene" overplaying it

This tune will probably turn up on a telly advert or somthing soon.

the latest lookalike repro is easy to spot in person since it feels/looks like a brand new 45, they have a copy at one of the local stores here, but from an online pic I can see how it'd be a bit tough. if it's too good to be true, it probably is

Excello boot is black or very dark blue print on orange.

Original is blue print on orange.

White demo not booted so if you want to be real safe get the wdj.
