Dimples Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Is there a US issue of this one? if so, it's got to be extremely rare. I've never seen one
Mot Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Pretty certain its UK only as it's British R&B with Georgie Fame & group on backing. Edited February 17, 2011 by MOT
Bigsoulman Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Just checked JM's book and it looks like thats right Could have sworn I saw it on US sue but there you go thats old age for you Was told a while ago that the UK issue is damn hard and copies few and far between but you never know! Cheers, Lenny
TheBigO Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Pretty certain Lenny this is UK only and yes damm hard to get hold of a copy in mint condition (mine was cracked and came from taff waaaaaay back in the early 80's) but not that high value wise I would have thought and certainly not mega rare. I think I remember him being Australian and Ronnie Gordon was one of a few stage names he used as a solo artist - but like you old age is dulling my memory!I'm sure someone like Pete S would be able to give a better indication of price/rariety etc etc. Top toon though and vastly underplayed. Guest Jean-Paul Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Ronnie Gordon is a Jamaican singer from London. It's his real name, not a stage name. He wrote both sides of this great 45 and was backed by Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames on these recordings. He still performs live in London with Mick Eve (original Blue Flames sax player). Got my copy from Dave Edwards who kindly gave it to me when he found a mint one and then got it signed by Ronnie and Mick. Pretty hard to find 45 - and I would guess it costs more now that its popularity has grown due to it being spun at clubs and being featured on one of the Trojan Mod Reggae box sets (compiled by Dave Edwards). Anyway, sorry I don't know of a copy for sale, but hope this info is of some interest. All the best! JP
