Derek Pearson Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) Derek Pearson & guest selector Mick Howard Shades Of Soul 21.00-22.00pm. Bradford Community Based Radio BCB106.6FM Tonight's guest across the airwaves of Bradfordland and beyond, is the man from Heywood, Mick Howard, this time accompanied by his delightful wife Karen. I know I say this every time, but one fine day I will try and work out which DJ has done most guest spots on the show over the years. What I do know is that the top spot is between tonight's guest and Mr Brighouse Ritz himself, Craig Butler. Once again, the lid will be lifted and we'll see what delights Mister Howard pulls out from the depths of his box. As usual I'll fill in with some crackly vinyl and sharp, witty banter (sort of). Fasten your seat belts and await 60 minutes of the good groove. It could go anywhere and often does. Expect the weird. Expect the wonderful. And as usual if you're interested in hearing the show live there's 2 ways to go about it first try the good old 106.6FM frequency on your radio if you live within roughly 10 miles of the studio and secondly through the wonders of the world wide web www.bcbradio.co.uk I shall endeavour to include a soundclip of the show into this post sometime early next week Onwards, Derek All Era's. All styles. All over the place. And you know it. From out of Mick Howard's box of tricks came these twelve: The Rotations "trying to make you my own" Mala J B Troy "live on" Musicor Little Rose Little "you got the love" Roulette The Festivals "checkin' out " Blue Rock Joe Bataan "special girl" Fania The Intentions "I'm losing your love" Up Tight Gene Redding "I got soul" Bell The Debonaires "stop let's be united" Galaxy Eddie Parker "body chains" Prodigal Spencer Wiggins "I'm at the breaking point" UK Kent Select Natural Impulse "we're gonna make it big" UK Soul Junction Daddy Maxfield "I've always been in love with you" United Artists Dee Pee's random selection of eight crackly vinyl 45s: Lou Johnson "You better let him go" Big Top; Lou Johnson "Magic Potion" Big Top; Billy Butler "Sweet darling" Brunswick; Marvin Smith "Love ain't nothing but pain" Brunswick; Eddie Holman "I'll cry 1,000 tears" Bell; The Voicemasters "You've hurt me baby" Bamboo; Willie & Anthony "I'm tired (of a one way love affair)" Blue Candle; Ike Strong "I owe my life to you" Bama. with guest DJ Mick Howard - Bradford BCB Radio 106.6FM 9-10pm - And on the 8th day the Lord made vinyl Edited February 28, 2011 by Derek Pearson
