Eamesy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Never ceases to amaze me the prices people pay for old = or not so old - boots, friend sold a Dana Valery boot last week for £52 !!!!
Reg Scott Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Wtf...????  ' /> My link I saw that myself and was amused.. How much for the Tempests on Stardust then ??
Larry Semmins Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Bugger i had a pile of Stardust 45's and gave them to a mate for his new jukebox, que sera. Steve
Guest Brett F Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) To be honest, without getting too deep, this really is tragic, i mean for Gods sake, who is the person willing to pay up if not more than $51 for this, they have no understanding of the ethic of the rare soul collecting, it has to be about originals that's what gives the scene its edge in my opinion, i don't mind if legal re-issues are made, released etc (grapevine etc, etc) the artist gets royalties and so on, but really for a Stardust 45' to reach this price i believe it is born out of pure ignorance on the buyers part...good luck to the seller.... Brett ps.. i love this line from the seller................Singles will be sent in special protective parcels larger than the sleeve....Good comedy writes itself.. Edited January 30, 2011 by Brett F
Kev Harker Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I saw that myself and was amused.. How much for the Tempests on Stardust then ?? sold one for 32 quid last year, after I had seen one go for 40. you could have the album for that ,with a little luck. kev
Marc Forrest Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 ...a look on the bidding history explains a lot IMO.
Glynthornhill Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 and just observe how poor those ' reissue ' 45 s are .....Don ' t even attempt to mirror any authenticity in label design.....

Soul-slider Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Kenny Carter 'What's That On Your Finger' was on Stardust, would that be considered worth owt as it was never issued anywhere else?
Mick Holdsworth Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Kenny Carter 'What's That On Your Finger' was on Stardust, would that be considered worth owt as it was never issued anywhere else? Probably as much as Tony Middleton (realistic value, £5 / $10 - not the current stupidity) Unfortunately the Stardust release of KC had a hacked up intro, which is the best part of it Cheers Mick
