Dylan Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Not long Dylan it,s pretty new to me to be honest, but its got everything i want in a tune, hope somebody offers me one soon lol, regards charlie its a very very hard record to find and as a result its probably very expensive as well.
charliew Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 open to reasonable offers ... got bills coming up ok Mark be gentle m8, i have no idea of the value but on hearing it last week it blew me away, just my kinda tune, i sorta new it must be rare and also quite valuable but have no idea of market value, could you give me a starting point please ,regards charlie
Soulcarp Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 think you would be looking at 2-5k to 3k may be more if some one was daft enough to part with one very, very hard record atb johno
Ted Massey Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 quite a price range https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?pagenum=1&searchtext=locations&incldescr=&sortord=ddate&thumbs=&currsel=
Dylan Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 quite a price range https://www.popsike.c...thumbs== 2 there from same seller in 2010. But that doesn't realy mean anything in the scheme of things. those last copies went much cheaper than I nexpected this record to sell for. I might keep an eye out for a copy myself
Marc Forrest Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) another mint copy on ebay now. As I didn`t get one single offer for my copy I`ll file it back into the collection now and wait what the one on ebay will fetch... Edited February 4, 2011 by Marc Forrest
NEV Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 think you would be looking at 2-5k to 3k may be more if some one was daft enough to part with one very, very hard record atb johno John ...you missed out £2k and £4k mate oh and £1k too! Overpriced for something that as Ted would rightly say " for that amount of money i'd want a bit more oomph" Been a few copies on ebay over the last few yrs and apart from the one big price jump ,probably someone hell bent on owning it, i cannot see how anyone would put this at anything over £1000 £1000 buys you William Cummings .....Sensations -Demanding man ......powerhouse Northern sounds and probably rarer . P.s ....just my opinion and opinions are like Ar** holes ..everyones got one
Marc Forrest Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 £1000 buys you William Cummings .....Sensations -Demanding man ......powerhouse Northern sounds and probably rarer . P.s ....just my opinion and opinions are like Ar** holes ..everyones got one would have thought they are all in the same league value - wise although the Sensations offers more value for the money as it has a splendid flipside...which next to me sadly only Mick H is spinning here and there. Seriously I believe the Locations should be around 1.250 - 1.500 UKP depending on condition. TB just put up a Sensations in immaculate condition..wonder how much that will go for..

Marc ..the prob with the flip side of Sensations is ...it's the flip to a far superior sound As for T.B's copy .....immaculate was'nt the way i read the description ?? But i too would be interested in end price? Shame it's not publicised though ....which would be an advantage to Tim imho ,as it might encourage people to send him things to auction if they knew he was getting top prices Price of Locations will be determined shortly Marc and if ebay recent prices are anything to go by ....you might be nearer than me
Marc Forrest Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 As for T.B's copy .....immaculate was'nt the way i read the description ?? But i too would be interested in end price? Label was "damaged"...but the vinyl was ex plus if I remember correctly. As I am no butterfly collector its mainly the condition of the vinyl I am interested in .
NEV Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 you rained off again Nev mark Hi Mark me old Manc buddy, hope all is well and your wants list is ever expanding ,since last Friday at Steves bash If i was a betting man i'd hazzard a guess that it's raining in Manchester today ?? Not that the bookies would offer much odds against that eh I actually always finish early on Friday and for the record ,it's dry but jeez ,is it windy
Chalky Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I would say Locations is rarer than Sensations. Popsike doesn't show all the Sensations that have been through ebay. Plenty been through lists and Kitch had about 10 copies some years ago. Agree with Marc, all in the same area value wise, all rare and indemand. The prices on popsike for the Locations just show why popsike is a waste of time when looking for a value, spread over a period of time and a huge inconsistency with prices.
Mark B Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hi Mark me old Manc buddy, hope all is well and your wants list is ever expanding ,since last Friday at Steves bash If i was a betting man i'd hazzard a guess that it's raining in Manchester today ?? Not that the bookies would offer much odds against that eh I actually always finish early on Friday and for the record ,it's dry but jeez ,is it windy it has been very windy here but that is because i went for a curry last night with Tony and some other mates anyway on Topic Locations i would have thought £800.00 to a £1000.00 mark
Chalky Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Think if memory serves me correctly put one on Andy's list for about £1100??? I'll have to go back through the lists.
Marc Forrest Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Think if memory serves me correctly put one on Andy's list for about £1100??? I'll have to go back through the lists. Locations or Sensations ?
NEV Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Locations or Sensations ? Chalky i think you may be mistaken ...unless you were'nt wearing your specs and mistakenly put 7 instead of 1
Dylan Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I would say Locations is rarer than Sensations. Popsike doesn't show all the Sensations that have been through ebay. I might be mistaken about this
Chalky Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 didn't rod dearlove had "demanding man" as a cheao front page focus tune some years ago as well ? I might be mistaken about this possibly, he had plenty of stuff cheap compared to what it is today. Vanguards springs to mind at £15.
Corbett80 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Heard Mick Smith play the Sensations quite a few times a couple of years back at the 100. Adam Torel has a copy of it as well, awesome 45.
Chalky Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Steve Smith played the Sensations early 90's at the Bretby soul nights.
Dylan Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 possibly, he had plenty of stuff cheap compared to what it is today. Vanguards springs to mind at £15. thats the one I was thiunking of. I always remember vangaurds and sensations being big sounds at the same time. Probably a good while after rod had the cheap copies of the vanguards though.
NEV Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Well Charlie I hope you managed to get the one on ebay mate Im sure it got enough exposure on here push up the bids ?? So was the final price ,a guide to real worth or not https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=380313358281&si=14CvxW4XouHaCRYSvZyrdbqq2Rw%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Harrogatesoul Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Think thats a fair price for the 45.. Let's face it there's been a hell of a lot worse records sold for a hell of a lot more..
Marc Forrest Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Think thats a fair price for the 45.. Let's face it there's been a hell of a lot worse records sold for a hell of a lot more.. Havent checked the soundbite (if there was one) but if the reocrd plays as good as it looked it was a real real bargain IMO.
