c alexander "pay them no mind"

any DJs played this over the years ? seems to be a cheapish 45 available on about 3 labels but I only came across it last week for the first time and thought it sounded very good. The more uptempo flip sounded OK as well but not quite as strong to me.

certainly good enough to buy a copy :D

New one on me also and just checked both sides out. I'd be pleased to hear either side out at anytime. Perhaps "Pay Them No Mind" in a laid back soul lounge which isn't necessarily dance orientated, now wouldn't that make a nice change.

NICE!

:D

Great call Dylan, have been shouting from the rooftops for years about this, sadly though, in this big ticket demandind "not rare enough" climate we live in it will remain like so many other ignored gems just a topic for debate on these threads.

There's not much prestige in just playing good quality soul music these days.... :D

Used to have this on Leo over 20 years ago, and dismissed it as a sound no one would like.

If I knew then what I know now..........................

to follow up on the other thread about this, apparently c alexander is from detroit and this did originally come out on antone, which is the real first label.

Sorry guys, the link takes you to the beginning of the Mike Hanks story, you have to click forward about 15 or 16 pages to the relevant page.
