When I first started reading Blues and Soul, A Crossover record was one that made it in the Pop charts, especially in the US, in other words had crossed over from being a Soul Hit (or C&W) to making it in the mainstream. Nowadays it seems to mean any record slower than Mid Tempo Tony

Mal.C. I think that's one of the all time great records, but I don't think it's crossover, personally...it's way too strong, it's Northern to me
