Ady Croasdell Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I thoroughly enjoyed their show at the Jazz cafe. I'm not so keen on their funkier (to the exclusion of soul) numbers but could appreciate the sound and the skill of them and when they added the extra soul quotient they were stunning. It was great to see such a big healthy line up in a group and they were splendid company when they came down to see the crowd post gig. My only criticism was them doing their big Northern number 2nd in the set and that was before they were really into their stride. The 4th track was particularly good but I can't remember the title! They threw in a great version of Stay Close To Me a la 5 stairsteps.
Marc Forrest Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) you get a bit of feedback for their brilliant Berlin concert here although its neither telling you that the KGF guys hang around the nearly sold out place till about almost 5 am in the morning to party with us lot and that indeed they dedicated a wonderful version of Ellipsis "People" to one very well known English Rare Soul DJ who happened to celebrate his 46th birthday that night ...nor does it tell you the fact that they almost hired a brand new master of ceremonies / moderator in the person of one other again very well known English Rare Soul DJ who managed to climb up the stage several times to give us some brilliant announcements LOL ! Fabulous.... I was aksed to play some tunes after the show and took about 30 45s with me...as no one wanted to follow me with deejaiyng I ended up with playing nearly every single one of them twice LOL!
