Guest Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 (edited) Original : Green label styrene with raised x in the run out these were the Detroit issues. Orange or light green moulded over label on vinyl. Orange reissue : Reissued through Atco in 1972 has a slightly different layout("AT" for Atlantic distribution scratched in run out groove). White demo copies are definite originals. But some have a very rough edge to the vinyl others don't, both are authentic releases. Edited September 21, 2005 by Brett
mischief Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 thanks will check later as in the car.. all I can remember is it is a darkish green label.
Guest Trevski Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 If its green its pukka! Well done! (was it the vg copy on ebay recently? Looked ok for djing with.)
Guest Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 This is all very worrying. I have a green label vinyl copy with a raised x on the run out. Dunno if the label is light or dark green though! I've always assumed it was bootleg.
Guest Trevski Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 (edited) Never seen a green boot. Have scans of both vinyl and styrene. first the lighter green vinyl. These have distributed by atco records underneath the HIB second, the styrene The darker detroit styrene have the detroit address under the HIB bothe genuine. Edited September 22, 2005 by Trevski

Instead of a raised "X" in the runout groove it is scratched in on the boots. If anyone can tell me different I'd be very pleased because I've got one but sure I'm right!

stomper45 Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 according to jm guide, credit should read "Wylie" not "Wylia"

This sounds like mine- dark green, Detroit address under the "Hib Records", blurry print. low volume and on a closer look seems to have a scratched 'x'. So thats alright then. There are "i'm sick to death of hearing" oldies, then there's the quality oldies that you'll hear next week Excellent, I hope to make this. Will you be playing some of those oldies that aren't oldies yet oldies? They're my favourite oldies.
