Guest Adrian Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Hello all. This is my 1st post so thought i'd do a quick introduction. This is a great site which has helped me discover some great records and i hope I can contribute some info for others from time to time. I collect soul/funk mainly, bit of brazilain soul here and there, after collecting lp's I have finally given into temptation as there are too many good 45's to ignore. to introduce myself here a little selection of fav's, current buys. LP Top Five 1. Marvin Gaye - Here my Dear - Motown Real hard to pick a fav of Marvin, I really like all his 4 big albums from the 70's, but this one just takes me to another place. 2. Johnny Bristol - Strangers - Atlantic Another lp I can listen too time and time again, never skip a track, cheap as cheaps too. 3. Exit 9 - Straight Up - BRC A perfect example of the funk sound I like, more discoey I suppose and I like it when funk bands try singing in a sweet soul style. 4. Westwing - Westwing - 20th Century Bazzer produced, I'm gonna love you outdoes the og, nice all round. 5. Leroy Hutson - Curtom Was going to put Hutson II, changed my mind. All those curtom lps are nice. Last 5 Purchases 1. The Family lp - Little City 2. Clarence Mann - Sadity Lady - Flowers 3. Sound of Washington DC - Jealousy 4. Winfield Parker - I Wanna Be With You - PPL 5. Brotherly Love - Whole Lotta Me In You - Robinson Well you are all probably bored now and all these are common but hey, gotta start somewhere! Thanks Adrian
