WENDELL PARKER--MY LOVES ON RATION

============

whats the original of this on,,copies ive had on capricorn 7 are often of poor sound quality

are there w/demos of it?

link

I always thought this was an unissued thing that Nev Wherry played, when the Capricorn 7 appeared at same price as boot (1.25gbp!!) assumed it was being priced appropriately.

Anybody else remember?

Cheers

As a 13 year I was curious who sung a new record to me called 'aint no soul left in these old shoes since youve been gone' and took it hook line and sinker as my mates told me that it was 'Freeman Hardy and Willis' to the point of requesting it to a hyena laughing dj. Youth eh.

It was covered as Melvin Thomas. I remember buying Sams copy from him at The Bedford 'NiteSpot' allnighters back in 1980, for £60, alot of money back then! I'd hounded him for ages about it, then that nite he said okay then £60! It was a massive sound at the time when EJ CHandler alias Superlatives, New Wanders alias Robby Lawson, Four Tracks alias The Mandingos, Cashmeres alias The Volcanos were all doing the rounds... Hmmm those were the days, when DJs used to talk to each other agree to collectively cover and hammer certain sounds up and down the country to 'break' them with the crowds. You only at to hear a sound in 3 consectutive spots back then for it to stick, sounds used to be broken in a matter of weeks. Now its seems to take an age. Maybe DJs should start working together again again to break lesser known things.
