Guest Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Smokey Johnson "It Ain't My Fault Pats 1&2" NOLA M- £15 Classic New Orleans funky drumming 45, Smokey was one of the greats, top party starter. Tough Dj Promo. Randy & The Soul Citizens "Meet Me At The Pool" Barry M- £40 Big tune for Mr Finewine, Barry is reknowned for its great boogaloo releases and this baby is one of the top ones. Pt 1 is more northern leaning but pt 2 is out-there boogaloo madness. Tough Dj Promo. The Delegates "Pigmy" Aura VG+ £20 Comped some time back by Keb Darge, a two part boogaloo 45 by billy Larkin, top sound! Plays with mild bg hiss which doesn't really affect play especially in a club. The Shackleford Singers "God Is All Over Me" R.S. VG++ £80 As low as this one can go, big funk club spin, killer funky gospel, just comped on a breakin bread mix. Pattie Ward "Girls you have to wait for love" Road M- £30 Woooooowie, a real beautiful crossover sound here, a Beaver tip off a couple of years back. Pretty tough one to find so get it here mint and cheap. Calvin Williams "Lonely You'll Be" Atco M- £60 Should list at £75 for this mint white promo, a much favoured spin on the rare soul scene, quite a funky assed backing to this one, here it here... https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Calvin_Wiil...u'll_Be.ram Peggy Larey "Welcome Home" Sidewalk EX £60 Wow, never thought I would ever sell this gem, but needs must! An absolutely gorgeous crossover soul 45, going for big money on the bay these days, this is a promo copy from The Saturday soul review sound system and those suckers stuck a big sticker on it saying so! Released Aug 1969 - that's written on there too alongside a couple of x's - so label is a vg but vinyl is perfecto mundo as Arthur fonzerelli would say. The Sensations feat. Yvonne Baker "Baby" Junior M- £150 Killer sixties funky sister soul, great drum break at the end, big big big demand on this. Need I say anymore? Tough Issue copy. The Delcos "Arabia" Showcase M- £50 In-demand rare soul 45 The Exciters "Blowing up My Mind" RCA M- £40 Classic Northern soul sound that's not played to death, still a fresh great sound. Tommy Ridgley "Pretty Little Mama" Blue Jay EX £30 Cool RnB from Tommy and Eddie Bo, classic nola mid sixties sound. martin@soulgeneration.co.uk
