Chris Anderton
Some thieving bastard has hacked into my ebay account and tried to sell some mobile phones on my ID. Somehow ebay realised it was`nt the real me and suspended my account. They sent me a mail saying I will get a mail telling me how to reactivate my account but nothing has appeared yet....... I`ve had dealings with ebay before and I find them difficult to get hold of. Does anyone have a contact email address, or even a phone number I could try to actually speak to somebody about this problem? Off-list to chris.soul@btinternet.com and i`ll treat all info in the strictest confidence! Cheers, Chris Link to comment Social source share

Cheers, Chris link Chris - this happened to me before - check your email account and make sure that you haven't got your emails diverted. If you haven't already, change passwords on all your email accounts & paypal. Girth Link to comment Social source share

Pete S
I had one sent to me yesterday - had my email address right and that - said I had paid for some watches from L.A., if I believed this transaction to be incorrect, click here (link to paypal security) - however, the link takes you straight to a spoof paypal site which looks identical to the real one, the only clue is in the actual address at the top of the page. Must have fooled a lot of people. Edited August 25, 2005 by Pete-S Link to comment Social source share
Mace
Chris, go onto ebay and forward the email that is apparently from ebay to their ebay spoof email addy, they will tell you if it's from them. Are these alleged transactions showing up (click advanced search, then search by seller name using your ID, then choose completed items, and any items listed in last 30 days should show) Sounds more like a spoof email to me, hoping to divert you to another dodgy website when they ask to to reactivate your account by logging in your original ID and password. Get similar ones all the time telling me my account will be suspended in so many days if I don't log in to reativate it etc.... regards, Mace. Liamgp
All e-bayers should be extra wary of 'phishing' e-mails supposedly coming from them or PayPal warning about alarming situations like someone jacking into your account or similar. They're trying to get your account information so just ignore them! Always ask Ebay or PayPal to confirm they sent you the message. Link to comment Social source share

Soundsokeh
if it came from ebay then they also have it in your personal message section on there as stated , sounds like a phishing scam to me but best to double check with ebay themselves as its a common scam Link to comment Social source share
