Guest James Trouble Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 (edited) I've got a good (bloody good IMO) unreleased acetate by the Four Bars that will be getting played at You Know You Got Soul on Sunday. Very uptempo, very punchy, very danceable, very northern soul. Almost certainly a one off. Edited August 24, 2005 by James Trouble
Guest James Trouble Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I've posted the first minute of it in the sound section, click here for the link.

Furthermore, two tracks, one by Betty Wilson and the 4 Bars ("Keep On Holding My Baby's Hand") and the other by Eddie Daye and the 4 Bars ("I Can Fix It") were previously unreleased.
Mike Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I've posted the first minute of it in the sound section, click here for the link. link any background on this JT? sounds sort of familar
Guest James Trouble Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 any background on this JT? sounds sort of familar link I don't want to give too much away as I am trying to track down people assotiated with the record, but it was found with a letter from the producer which included "THIS IS JUST A DEMO. FOR THE MASTER, I WOULD WANT A DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENT WITH HORNS..." etc. I aquired it from a retired soul collector in the UK, so it is possible that it has been played at some point on the soul scene, but how many times, how many moons ago and where I wouldn't like to guess.

Guest James Trouble Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ta when hear it, a different chorus springs to mind , if know what I mean got a lot going for it, let us know how it goes down link I guess alot of records kind of sound motownish, if that's stating the obvious? I know what you mean though. Bloody catchy record, sticks in your head straight away.
Guest rachel Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ta when hear it, a different chorus springs to mind , if know what I mean got a lot going for it, let us know how it goes down link Yeah reminds me a bit of something else too - nice tune
Guest Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Thanks for the input on Lean On Me and to Chalky for posting up the sound file, personally it's a record I have always liked and just wanted a bit of info on. Liked the snippet of Push Girl from the Four Bars, the backing kind of reminds me of The Twilights Your The One on Aqua Records at first listen. Cheers John.
