The Luther Ingram one is unissued and I grovelled for an acetate as payment for DJing the 100 club, but Ady gave me a boot instead. He booted my ass right up the stairs of the club. This is the best for sure, recognisable by its gravelly choral breaks. And easily by fave r'n'b tinged soul record.

The Wilson Pickett for ages I thought never came out on 45, but Gav Needham proved me wrong. I've got the LP. It's good. But it's not right. I'd be interested in hearing a third.

Yes, it's out on a portugese EP as well on the Tecla label. Here's my copy (the only one i know of actually). The other side has got two tracks by Otis Redding.

The record i´m trying to get some info on is writen by Fred Bridges & on Versatile records

Posted

do you know Mark Forrest, he was the one I first heard mention of it from, and it features on his play lists, he may have more info

on written by, can't find the wilson p to check if same, but think its same as checked recently, though reckon its origins is a old gospel song

"oh mary dont you weep"

I've posted a scan of my fred bridges in the gallery.

I don't have any info on it but I do know someone had it on ebay for sale a few months back and it didn't reach the reserve. If I remember rightly he sells under the name sixties-soul.
