Dave Thorley Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Hi All It's been over a year since we did the last, but barn converstion and a bunch of trips to the states, stopped us getting back any sooner. But anyway, gonna record the show tomorrow, big thanks to GFM for the loan of a studio. If anyone has any requests, nows the time. Otherwise, bunch of un-released stuff, nice 70's/80's soul & funk, cool deep and a couple of killer 60's thrown in as well. Plus we will be playing a few tracks from our latest project 'Todays Soulful Sounds Of Detroit' which will be out on a vinyl Lp in the next few months. this is a 8 track LP with all new material from the city recorded in the last few years. Sunday morning 10.00 - 12.00, Soul People Show Sky Digital Channel 0129 or from the site www.solarradio.com Cheers Dave & Malayka

Val (Chunky) Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Hi Dave, you played me a couple of tracks off of an acetate L.P. one morning in your flat at Bamberg (remember, when you woke everyone up) can't remember anything else about them except they sounded pretty good, wouldn't mind hearing them again. Better still send me an MP3

Dave Thorley Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) I like both of them dave especially track 2 mark Came from the late Andrew Smith in Detroit, session drummer at Motown he also worked with Denis Coffey and Tom Moulton. They were a project of his, not sure who the vocalist is though. Edited January 13, 2011 by Dave Thorley

Dave Thorley Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 Well, recorded the show today at Gloucester FM, big thanks to Jerry and the crew for letting us use the studio there. Pretty happy with it, think you'll all like, a diverse mix of things, 60's through 70's and 80's. A few un-released things, lesser know and some simple stunners. Hope you can listen in, thanks for all the emails of support, been awhile since we've been on the airwaves. Dave & Malayka
