good angel Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Webby, I asked this question a few years back,it didnt get much feed back. 25, is my tally. Kev.
Guest Matt Male Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 How Many Different Venues Have You Been? Er... i've never been a venue.
Guest Matt Male Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 What is the question? Is it 'how many venues have you been to'?
Davetay Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I don't think I could remember all the do's in the Manchester area that I have been to, let alone the whole country! I do know that I have been to fourteen different weekenders over the years. (this was nine when I 1st typed it lol) I will try and have a think about All- Nighters, and get back to you. Normal soul nights not a chance of remembering them all. It is forty years this year since my 1st Soul Night, (Blackpool Mecca) over that if you count local Disco and youth club days.
Citizen P Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What is the question? Is it 'how many venues have you been to'? Bit harsh, You know that to Webby, Grammar, is an elderly female relative. And to answer the query about 20 I think T
Guest aintgotit Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 i have trouble rememberin the way home from work .So five weekenders and maybe two dozen venues. spose im a creature of habit.
Guest Matt Male Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Nighter venues, where they've had at least one nighter, about 27 i think without wracking my brain. Soul nights, God knows. Weekenders, never, i don't own a pair of speedos and a whistle... Edited January 13, 2011 by Matt Male

Weekenders, never, i don't own a pair of speedos and a whistle... Well I don't own any speedos, but I do have a whistle, but in my defence I was a Ref in the local league in the early 80s.
Guest Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) In 46 years of schlepping up , down and across this sceptered isle of ours to venues , I have forgotten more than I can recall . There have been good ones , bad ones , memorable ones and forgettable ones , but they have all had the one uniting factor : they have all contributed to the experience , development and retaining the interest for this scene of ours and the music that provides the soundtrack to it . Ged Parker Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Somewhere (though God know's where) I have a copy of Joey Heatherton's WYCMB with all the venues I'd been to at that point ('78 ish) written on the sleeve. It was in the high 20's then and I'd only been on the scene a couple of years.
Guest Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Totally agree, it's been a hell of a journey and an experience. For me Matt , that journey and experience continues in the next month , with at least two new venues I have never been to before , and I am looking forward to visiting them . Malc
