Anyone remember the soul nites at The Claremont in Edinburgh about 15 years or so ago? Top night, great times. First heard Rob Marriott play "My Proposal" first time out. Blew me and Micky Cruise away that night.

Those were the days.

Still got my anniversary tapes my good friend Melv. Mark Wilson bought My Proposal that night off Rob.

Music was amazing, DJ's amazing and the attendees were all great people.

Some of the best nights of my time on the Scene thanks to Mark W, Acky and the wee laddies xx

Yes fab times indeed (maybe nearer 18 - 20 years ago?), as organised by my SS namesake (and often confused with that)! Annette and I remember these nights very fondly when I was at college in Edinburgh. Just one of a string of quality Scottish soul dos in the late 80s / early 90s, and a great atmosphere in the basement on busy nights! Great company, great music.

IMHO probably the best nights ive ever attended in scotland, musicaly subline, rob marriott, pete lowrie, soul sam, john pownie, keith money etc to name but a few top class dj,s playing things like haynes cotton black wings, trends thanks for a little loving, jordon bros aint no big thing, charles diamond gotta find a new love, magnetics i had a girl, new wanderers let me render my service, dave charles aint gonna cry no more & my proposal to name but a few quality tunes that graced the decks, such a great little club with its dividing wall between the bar and the dance floor asked about reviving it around 3 year ago but mick the owner said that all the entertainment laws etc had changed and it would be problamatic ? anyway big hand to Acky & Mark for leaving a cherished bit history for the scottish soul scene, regards charlie
