You can always cut a couple of milimetres out of the belt and superglue it together, seriously, it'll tighten it up

As long as you're running it on the mains adaptor then it sounds like the belt has degraded a bit..

Plenty of belts available on the Bay.. If that doesn't work then it needs to be stripped and cleaned to make sure the drive runs freely..

Flanny, If all the advice you're getting fails to fix the problem, let me know. I have a guy who fixes Burgers. He's fixed 5 so far and they're all still working fine. He even fixed one I gave to him to canabalise for spare parts for a couple of others that needed attention.

He fixes electrical devices of all kinds for a living, it's not just a sideline.

Hi Flanny / Karl

This is very easy to fix and only needs a long thin philips screwdriver and a couple of records.

Lay your Soundburger upside-down, with the power supply flat edge facing towards you. You should see two screws holes, below the right hand corner of the battery tray. Theses cross screws are the speed adjustment screws (pitch control). The left screw is for 33rpm play speed adjustment the right screw (on the edge) is the 45rpm play speed adjustment.

Get your screwdriver plus two records , one 45 rpm and the other a 33 rpm record that you know well. Then turn the screws to speed up or slow down, can't remember which way clock or anti clock wise but with each adjustment listen to your records again and you should hear the difference. The service manual suggests you use a strobe gun but I always just use my ears.

If you or anyone wants a copy of the service manual then send me a PM with your email address and I will forward to you.

Hope this helps,

Des
