Was kinda meant to be a joke Dan.

But I wouldn't put my horse on it rolleyes.gif

Dont Forget the immortal line (repeated two or three times) in Crazy Things by Joe Douglas as our man sings 'TOSS OFF AND SHOUT AS LOUD AS I CAN'.

Definitely strikes a chord that one, reminding me of the old joke about the difference between and egg and a w***......... You cant beat a w*** of course.

rolleyes.gif Nuff said.

Bit of a hobby horse of mine this, but I'll keep on about it till someone agrees!

In the first verse of this Torch classic, Roy Handy CLEARLY sings; "We stand in a line for fish and chips..."

good shout simon, got me thinking

could be 'in a lonely...yeah...a lonely land'

actually i think this was what the consensus was before from memory, not that the consensus was necessarily right

or maybe 'in a lonely barren, lonely land'?

I'm pretty sure it's 'complete' i.e. a chain that not been broken as it might get, if someone tried to pull it off him during a robbery

Certainly does. Make you wonder how many singers slipped a few wrong words in and the producers didn't notice before releasing it

Vondells - Hey Girl You've Changed

Can't figure this out at all. Some of the chorus is just about understandable and a bit about 'she wears bell bottom pants'

I'd like to see the lyrics if anyone has them.

Most problems with lyrics are due to crap production imo.

Well girl you dance and you dress with style

I just watch you playing darling in your mini skirt

Let do the latest dance

Now for sure, just take a chance

Now any minute I might lose control

And in to your arms I'm gonna go, go

Hey girl, my, have you changed!

Now when you were my girl you didn't look the same

You changed because you love me?

Because you love me?

Because you love me?

Ha, it's all right

Hey baby, it's out of sight

You wear bell-bottom pants in just the latest style

Every time I see you it really stupefies (?)

In your plat-former boots and hip-huggers too

Girl you look so fair standing in your mini skirt

I said, hey girl, my, have you changed!

When you were my girl you didn't look the same

Did you change because you love me?

Because you love me?

Because you love me?

Hey girl, I need you

Hey girl, I want you

Hey girl, I want you bad

Hey girl, I dig you act

Hey girl ……. well alright

Hey baby you know it

Honey, don't you know it

You're out of sight

Hey baby, you've changed

Oh, sock it to me now ‘cause you're looking good

Sock it to me, honey, I knew you would

You know you're up-tight and out of sight

Hey, it's alright

Oh baby ………

Was listening to the fabulous Mello Souls on the way home last night, but big chunks of the song (we can make it) are indecipherable.

I wonder if the LSD (Lyrical Soul Doctor) Simon knows the meaning of the words to this £10k+ sound?

What about the Deltours, Sweet and Lovely?

There is a line in there that goes:-

'Livin' my life in underpants, I never thought it would be the same'

Sorry don't have a link but believe me, it really does say that!

Think you had better listen to it again hun!

Deffo, 'livin my life in underpants'! Shifty will vouch for it. Used to drive him bonkers singing it! (wish I was clever enough to attach a sound file!)

Is that Simon Tweedie?

No, he was taken off to the nut-house a few years back to live his life in underpants -

went around claiming to have written all the Northern classics and to prove it had a big book off lyrics written in crayon!!

Try in the sounds section, about the second page from the end

this is very true, especially for people, whose mother language is not english..

In Earl Grant's "Hide nor hair", he is singing that his baby went over to the porn shop and he never saw her since that day.

A bit strange, really, she obviously found something nice.

Or did she go to the pawn shop? :D I don't know...

Cheers,

Stefan
