Dave Abbott Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Carl Willingham played it and Chalky and Mick H. Sure Chalky'll have sound clip and info etc.,
Christian Punky Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 As far as I know, northern. Spunn by Carl Willingham just before he quit DJing and I know Ginger Taylor got his copy in the end. Hope this helps cheers Punky
Christian Punky Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 oops, that was already answered by Dave! Sorry...
MarkWhiteley Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 There was a guy on here, Jason from Indiana had a number of copy, but they were sat on or something along those lines. Not that great a record imo, bit white and never really goes anywhere. Having said that though I wouldn't mind one in my box... There's a soundclip on Manship's site.

Chris link Soundfile here - https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/rarestoftherare.htm?&pg=60 I know John auctioned one recently, but I can't remember what it went for.
MarkWhiteley Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I remember someone saying it sounds like Lewis Clark 'I need your lovin' which is about spot on, but Survivors is faster. Think it has a few nursery line lyrics in too 'Humpty dumpty fell off his wall' etc etc
MarkWhiteley Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 the group were war veterans hense name Survivors
Mike Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 the group were war veterans hense name Survivors link if look at bottom of page , a couple of previous threads about it shows up the similar threads box another one imo that sounds 999% better in real world begining to wonder if may be just me pc speakers that are crap .... or me ears is that straight up ginger has it ???
Christian Punky Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 As far as I know, yep, the Ging got it!
Gasher Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Pretty weak IMO and been compared to the Vondells ..Hey girl I DONT THINK SO SOMEHOW Stevie Wonder also said the labels look similar. been a few doing the rounds in the last year maybe 5 or six was told a guy in USA had a few and trickling them out. the gasher
MarkWhiteley Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 weak compared to most things, Vondells is superb and who ever compared the two nees their ears weshin Pretty safe to say there are more than 5 copies doing the rounds, don't know about quantity at any one time but the guy I mentioned has had a few in his hands over the past year.
Sebastian Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I know John auctioned one recently, but I can't remember what it went for. It sold for a mindboggling £711. https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/auction/newli...tionItemID=1213 The tune is absolutely dreadful.
Chalky Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Humpty Dumpty, makes no reference to him nor any nursery rhyme. Will have a good listen after me tea but basically says summat along the lines of "game I'd be losing" .....summat I can't make out while eating me tea but mentions dump .not humpty dumpty though then says "Heading for a fall". As for like Lewis Clark sounds sod all like it IMHO...ones half decent record for a start others basically shite but sounds good played loud and is very catchy And who ever compared it to the Vondells wants to get their ears cleaned out I got the second copy, Brian Poust advertised the copy on here and the one Manship auctioned wasn't a new copy. There's one on e-bay now.
Chalky Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 (edited) weak compared to most things, Vondells is superb and who ever compared the two nees their ears weshin Pretty safe to say there are more than 5 copies doing the rounds, don't know about quantity at any one time but the guy I mentioned has had a few in his hands over the past year. link or so he says........with the one on e-bay I've seen 5 copies... it's the sort of record gonna have to cash in on while it's still hot so to speak. If you ask me it will only go down in value if it turns up cause it's basically a pretty poor record and does get very boring after a while. The other side is f*cking awful and that is the top side Edited August 16, 2005 by chalky
Chalky Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 or so he says........with the one on e-bay I've seen 5 copies...who ever told you he had quantity is full of shite if you ask me, it's the sort of record gonna have to cash in on while it's still hot so to speak. If you ask me it will only go down in value if it turns up cause it's basically a pretty poor record and does get very boring after a while. The other side is f*cking awful and that is the top side link I'll rephrase that to agree with what Richie says, trickle them out rather than sit on it. Not going to go up in value so why sit on 'em

Can't quite figure out those lyrics but it's definitely not humpty dumpty

Also think it sounds somewhat like the Visitors "I'm in danger"-Bashie, At least at the beginning.
Marc Forrest Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I alone have been offered three in the last couple of months (weeks ). Nice "new" tune, but by no way mindblowing at all.
