Hi all

Anyone know where the Burdett label was from please?

I have always assumed Chicago, or maybe Cleveland unsure.gif

Bernie Moore had at least a couple of releases on the Burdett label including the awesome "I Wanna Be Loved To Death".

Presumably this is the same Bernie Moore as recorded on Lark and S.S.I? Both seem to be Detroit or Detroit-connected (Lark = Sound Inc. published and/or distributed; S.S.I. = Joe Hunter song writer and Brohun Music Publishing).

Anyone shed any light please?

Cheers

Richard

Hi Chalky - thanks for the link.

The label mentioned there is Burdette with an 'e'. The Bernie Moore label is Burdett.

Plus I can't see any links with the names/credits on Bernie Moore.

The producer of the Bernie Moore 45 is Joe Davis - does this narrow it down?

Cheers

Still half a sleep from last night

According to the label SSI is New York, maybe Burdett the same?

Just had a look at Manship's site because he often puts the city/town of origin if known. It says New York right enough.

Definite Detroit connections on that S.S.I disc though with Joe Hunter writing, arranging and conducting, and Brohun Music co-publishing (Fred Brown and Joe Hunter).

Although he has Detroit connections i always thought New York for his labels.Lark looks like a big apple label as well.
