Davetay Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 https://www.google.co...hHRnIcUQOyOd2Ww link to news of 100 Club being saved. Forgot to say "GOOD NEWS"
Guest CapitolSC Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Excellent news about the 100 club . Its like an early christmas present to hear it will carry on being there. And my new years resolution will be to get down there as much as possible in 2011 Al H
Guest julesp1905 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Though this is great news for a club steeped in so much history, the introduction of a sponsor does not mean OUR special nights will be saved, you can pretty much guarantee that bands will be booked to play every saturday night
Bigsoulman Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Fantastic news!. Noticed it may carry a sponsors name which is fine but hopefully they can keep the present logo for the club, and with a bit of luck we might get a new floor as well even bigger mens toilets Lenny
Winnie :-) Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 that's great news as I plan to go back there again in the new year
Simsy Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Only says 'could be' in the opening lines, but fantastic news all the same! Hope it's still called 'The 100 Club' though....
Guest aintgotit Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 well scooped dave! it,ll be good news in the morning too.!
Agentsmith Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 absolutely brilliant news and the shot in the arm all independant venues need....the knowledge that when it comes to the crunch, people PEOPLE REALLY DO CARE.i think sponsorship DOSNT necessarily mean a name change...afterall, the campaign has been ABOUT saving the CLUB WITH THE DEFINITIVE NAME. CHANGE THE NAME AND PEOPLE WILL WONDER WHAT ALL THE EFFORT WAS FOR?. i cant imagine for one minute, ady will rest on his laurels and he'll be in there cutting deals( if he hasnt already) just as soon as humanly possible. whoever the benificiary is, they're probably aware of the long tradition of 6ts soul nighters and will know its a moneyspinner. "GOOD NEWS" IN THE MORNING.....AS THEY SAY!.....MERRY CHRISTMAS SOULIES!!

Shsdave Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Who cares if they change the name ? They can call it the Glowing durex for all I care..................at the end of the day it won't be compulsory for everyone to use it when talking about it............to us it will always be the 100 Club, pretty simple really ! Anyway if it was to use a sponsers name it would probably be the 100 club Sponsored by xxxxxxxxxx or xxxxxxxxxxxs 100 club, don't see the problem
Guest CapitolSC Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 It is the best news YIPPEE, I agree with Dave, the 100 club name will be in there somewhere. Must make it to an allnighter next year as not been for so long
Guest Bearsy Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 hope the new sponsers are Carlsberg the Carlsberg 100 Club, Probably the best club in the world brilliant brillinat news and long may the 6ts nighters live on Probably the best nighter in the world

Ady Croasdell Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Well it's good to get the news from Soul Source, though it would have been nice to have the exclusive on this one It can now be revealed that Chris Harvey has come into some money (eurgh!) and it's gonna be Trickster's 100 Club
Ady Croasdell Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Though this is great news for a club steeped in so much history, the introduction of a sponsor does not mean OUR special nights will be saved, you can pretty much guarantee that bands will be booked to play every saturday night True but Jeff's always been helpful to the nighters when he can and from what I gather we've got all next years dates so it's looking good at the mo.
Bigsoulman Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Slightly off topic but it always riles me when the 100 club is mentioned in the media it always quietly air brushes out 31 years of soul all nighters there but mentions just about everything else that's been done there Lenny

Shsdave Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Very true Dave and I'm the last person you want to dance in front of with high heels and a drink in your hand Still bugs me though Huh, Just what have you heard about me Lenny ?....... cause i can assure you that I never dance with a drink in my hand.................. watch out for my heels though !!!!!!! Yes I know what you mean mate & it's a great achievement 31 years on but before 6ts @ 100 Club gets too much publicity can we give it another 30 years ?????

Guest toaster Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Great news.I have the badge but never bought the t,shirt! Can you still get them?Top club.Tim.
stevefrost Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 great night at the Xmas party, judging by some missing wooden floor tiles they had given up on maintenance for a bit but at least the 4 red light bulbs were still working to give that special atmosphere we all know & love. The new "no drinks on the dancefloor" signs certainly stopped the usual Xmas puddles. Business as usual....
Guest Athy Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 This excellent news. I first went to the 100 in 1973 (American Blues Legends) and it has been one of my favourite venues ever since, even though I can't get down there so much these days. I e-mailed Jeff about a month ago and he said that there could be someone "stepping up to the plate" but I feared that he was just being optimistic rather than realistic. I'm delighted that he was being the latter.

Ady Croasdell Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 would b good if u could a later fin like the old days as stopped going as much as 3hr wait for train 2 much Can't do it I'm afraid. Westminster won't allow any clubs open after 6am. We're having one when the clocks go back in Oct and we've got it until 6am new time, so at least it won't be an extra hour for DRimmer and similar Thomas the Tank Engine fans.

HI ADY AND A BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR,,,,,,IN MY YOUTH AS A WEST HAM BOY IN WEST END CLUBS, I HERD RUMORS THAT THE 6AM THING WAS DOWN TO THE PRINCE OF WALES, AS CHARLES OWNS MOST OF THE WEST END, ALL THE CLUBS AND CAF°S CLOSED AT 6 AM THEE WAS 1 AT KINGS CROSS THAT STAYED OPEN, IT WAS FULL OF OLD BRASS & PARAFFIN LAMPS, I USED TO COME FROM THE FLAMINGO AND HEAD FOR THE DILLY, AND ON THE RARE TIMES I WAS HUNGRY THE TAXI RANK AT TRAFALGAR SQUARE WAS POPULAR WITH CLUB GOERS, THE MARQUEE USE TO SHUT AT MIDNIGHT AND HAD NO BAR AT ALL, I WONDER WHAT THE ATTRACTION WAS??? I DON'T THINK ANYONE WOULD STAY TO 8 AM ANY WAY MATE, THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING AND YOU MIGHT SEE ME BEGGING OUTSIDE WEST END CENTRAL? HAS MICK TOLD YOU OF MY BAD LUCK?? DAVE THE MAN OF MEMORIES (S69)
